She def hits on a lot of points that Angelenos understand. Calabasas reputation has recently become "new money" and the longtime homeowners there bought relatively cheap compared to say the other affluent areas in the city, back when people considered the valley as no man's land (some still do). Rich celebrities used to opt for any of the hills areas (Beverly, Holmby, Hollywood, Bel Air etc) or if they really wanted seclusion, Malibu. Drake, Kardashian, Bieber etc. moving there brought Calabasas into the light and a lot more young and wealthy folks have started moving there to buy and build homes. Even over taking Beverly Hills annual income avg. But its misleading because Beverly Hills is still considered to have higher net worth individuals and old money, and homes are significantly more expensive on average. Any similar home in the city is typically going to be more expensive than the valley. I see a lot of friends who grew up in middle class Calabasas neighborhoods whose parents act like their kardashian's mom and shit but they're nowhere close to being wealthy and will buy whatever shit they can afford that the Kardashians own, it's hilarious. They could live in a condo townhome like in this video and act like they own a billion dollar empire. Just a few of them though of course. Like with any generalization, most Angelenos I've met are chill and don't talk about money and celebrity shit too much. Even the people who I worked with in the entertainment industry kept that shit at work and when we went out, we just talked about normal shit. Even the kids who have famous parents and are incredibly wealthy don't talk about that shit all that much. Even if you display it, it's not cool to really brag about that shit right now and considered faux pas. the most douchey ones might try to cleverly "hint" at their wealth or should I say at their spending. Mostly by buying/leasing an expensive car and bumping rap music that brags about money lol. Or slyly posting something expensive or justifying the purchase by whatever virtuous reason. If anything, it's the new transplants that feel they have to fulfill the stereotype to live here it seems. LA is chill though and the people are generally nicer than most places I've lived. but if you move here and hang out all starry eyed thinking that you're entitled to fame and wealth without hard work because you stepped foot in LA and were the shit back home then you'll be humbled eventually. Whether it be through not realizing your dream of super stardom or just people not wanting to hang out with that type of person lol. Surround yourself with good people, not the fame and power hungry ones that this city's stereotypical image tends to attract. End rant.
