I've seen some of her videos on the Vortex. All her videos are Garrett detectors. If there is anyone that is "clueless" and a "shill", it's her. I wouldn't trust her with testing a paper bag, let alone a metal detector.

Well here's one more thing. If we are supposed to use iron audio to test targets, then why isn't there a hot key that control iron audio? Secondly, most experienced detectorists will not skip a clean sounding tone that has an iron buzz like you said. It's no wonder that spots are never hunted out because people have been skipping over targets that had an iron buzz for years. They must have been reading Bill's advice. Thank you Bill! It has left many targets in the ground for me and anyone else that comes along in the modern world of detecting. Vortex needs bottle cap reject in beach mode, and throw away the iron audio setting garrett. Just give us the traditional iron tone. It will clear up a whole lot of confusion and sore fatigued ear drums.

Thank you, CD, for showing exactly why BC Reject is needed in Beach Mode. I, for one, will not even consider a Vortex at this time. It does have some good points, but I doubt that the existing circuitry in the detector will never be allow the corrections needed via an update. I had high hopes for Garrett releasing a great detector, but I do not see the Vortex as doing that. Actually, I hope that I am wrong and Garrett can correct what needs to be corrected. Time will tell.

i got an at max few yers ago, it was worst machine i ever used, iron audio feature is totally pointless when looking for hammered coins around iron. i couldnt see any advantage using it in any situation tbh if anyone could enlighten me. i sold it i use minelabs now, night and day

Crazy thing is that Bill S, who goes by the handle "Dirt Fishing" on KZbin, has been reviewing units for various manufacturers for a long time. He always seemed to be unbiased and logical in his assertions. He was my go-to guy when it comes to tips and advice on the etrac years ago, but when it comes to the Vortex he makes absolutely no sense. I can't fathom how he thinks "switching to iron audio" on a questionable target is preferable to simply having bottle cap rejection on beach mode in the first place. To say that CD "has no idea" how to run iron audio is just ridiculous. I also noticed that Bill hasn't even posted any new videos to his channel in a year, so I have no idea what happened with that guy.

Garrett can't afford to include wireless earphones due to their overhead costs as a American company , 5 years ago I paid $15 for a pair of earphones from wallmart and connected to my equinox , today they are $29 retail price .

Calabash your videos and testing procedures are visible for any interested person to view. Where’s Bill S’s videos and testing procedures. Anyone can write an article. It’s not that big of a deal anymore in this modern digital era to write and get published. We see CB, Iffy, and others well documented testing procedures and processes. We don’t know how Bill S came to his conclusions. Yes there are 2 types of people - those part of the problem and those part of the solution. My hard earned bucks are on the people who are reporting and part of the solution because they are protecting my hard earned cash from wasting my money on faulty products. Thanks Calabash and Iffy and Teach and all those others who reported honestly and fairly to give consumers truthful feedback on the state of metal detector products in the contemporary marketplace.

We still beating this dead bush. Garrett fans will never understand. But those of us with actual X amount of field time do. Metal detector X , M and N produces more finds than Metal detector G. Me personally I dont care for minelabs expanded new vdi numbers so I bought XP deus 2 and absolutely love it even after my original hesitations.

Hey, i like Garrett and many other Brands…. but the price of Garrett machines are to high and some things are horrible…. thin coil ears, weak plastic, to short S-Rod System (Ace Series incl. Apex) …. a coil for 150bugs without a cover and screw? what a shit…… and why they colored the new machine blue? s it a under water , deep search machine….. hmmm no …. for that money….. sorry 😢

I posted a link to Bill’s post on the Friendly Forum. I alone used the words “egotistical rants” in my introduction to his linked post. I was referring to a few members of the Friendly Forum not you. I can understand why you would prefer bottle cap reject for the VX9 beach mode. I wish it had it and a 3 tiered display. Anyway, you gave the VX9 a fairly positive saltwater beach KZbin video review earlier. Bill was also just doing saltwater beach testing with a prototype. Thanks again for all of your testing on a currently flawed detector. Like you, I hope Garrett is able to get the Vortex more presentable with future software updates.

I'll say it again, Garrett owns all the White's patents. Why won't they incorporate the XLT tones or make a more user-friendly (simpler) version of the V3i? What the effing eff guys? Sounds like they need to hire new engineers. FFS Garrett (saying it again), your machines sound like the screeching harpies on The View. Having KZbin content creators with high six-figure and seven- figure subscriber bases pimp your machines is slick, but I bet they run Deus II's, Manticores, Equinox 900's, and Triple Scores when not filming. And putting that chick on a detector box was cute, thirsty dudes loved her, she's a metal detecting 9, but a Walmart 5, and she couldn't hunt for shit. Garrett had great marketing for a while with the aforementioned techniques, but the Vortex is mauling that and any good will they built up. I really would love to support an American company in this hobby, but I'm going down under with the Xterra Elite package, which may be the greatest price package in our hobby's history. I will give Garrett this. Their pinpointers are topnotch, and the Axiom by all accounts might be the best PI when you take performance, weight, and price into account. Keep up the good work, Calabash, since you pay for all the machines you review (and not get paid by the manufacturer), combined with your experience (not kissing ass), you have more credibility than anyone.
