Today we are adding two pockets of 'Radiance' caladiums to one of our existing flower beds that needs an extra pop of color. These plants love our summer heat and humidity, and they bring such color, texture, and interest to the space.

Morning Jenny, your absolutely right, that's the fun part of gardening, gardening isn't a once and done it's all about growth and learning what works and what don't. I always try to over fill spaces but I'm learning that can create more trouble than it's worth by the end of the season. Not every space has to be cram packed full of flowers to be an eye catcher 😉

Beautiful beds! I agree that not every inch of space has to be planted. Over the years I have learned that I like having some space between my plants. I think it gives the eyes a rest and individual plants can be appreciated. Love watching Brynna 😄

Good morning! Jenny, the caladiums will really put on a show rather quickly and look fantastic in that area. Brynna chasing June bugs made me giggle, she seems to think she is your garden helper... chasing those big bad bugs away! 🪲 Have a great weekend! ~Margie💕🌞💚

Beautiful caladiums Ms Jenny. Just the right touch. Brenna loves being out in the garden with you, lol ! So cute ! Go in and cool off with a nice cold drink. Around 103 in my neck of the woods and 90s all through the weekend. So getting anything done is a morning must. Have a blessed rest of your Friday and weekend Ms Jenny and family.

I planted some caladium bulbs (or corms, or whatever they are for caladiums 🤣) and they are coming up, but I was surprised how small they were. I am hoping they spread. They’re pretty, just not full and large. It’s a garden experiment, so it’s fine. I will learn from it. We’ll see what happens. That’s the fun of it!

I have CE - Caladium Envy. LOL! Those look beautiful. I have 1. One. Uno. caladium planted in a pot with lime time sweet potato vine and red petunias. Looks awesome. But I want more caladiums. LOL! I would have to dig them up every year here in SW Ohio. If I lived in your zone near you, I would have bought you out of caladiums. Have a blessed weekend everyone! Get your hands dirty,

Happy Friday Jenny! Love the caladiums in that bed. That bright pop of color is gorgeous. I just got a shipment of PW caladiums this week, can't wait to get them planted. Quick question: how often does the irrigation run in that bed? I'm in the Nashville area and our clay soil makes yours look like potting soil - it is thick, mud-like and goopy after watering, so I'm wondering if I need to let it dry out more between watering. Suggestions on timing on the irrigation lines?
@GardeningwithCreekside
@GardeningwithCreekside 2 жыл бұрын
If it retains water well then you may only need to run it 2-3x a week. That’s just something you’ll have to play around with to see what works best.

Dawn the Augers are well made anything cheaper will just tear up in our soils. Buying less quality augers will cost you in the long run. I highly recommend power planter they stand behind their product that is made in the USA. Jerry
