You're so lucky! I planted Calamansi from a seedling almost 2 years now. No fruits yet the plant is slowly growing and hopefully it will this winter. I'll bring them outdoors in Spring and then maybe I'll have more luck.

Mine started flowering at 2-3 years and continue producing afterwards. Good luck with your calamansi and happy growing.

I recommend to buy a plant because with seeds it might take forever before you get the fruit. You can check Fast growing trees website, that's where I bought mine.

Thank you for sharing, what fertiliser do you use for your calamandin? i have lots of flowers and small fruits, but it does not grow big and it drops off.
@njandtxgarden7044 Жыл бұрын
I used the miracle grow liquid fertilizer. I mix it everytime I water them, 1/2 strength only when they are indoor during winter and full strength when they are outdoor spring/summer time.

This is great! I’m in zone 7 and was looking on Amazon for Meyer lemon seedlings. Gross lights are helpful right?
@njandtxgarden7044 Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use grow light during cold season when the plants are indoor.

My calamondin is big and desperately needs repotting. It’s September now, do you think I should repot it now or wait until the spring?
@njandtxgarden70443 ай бұрын
@vflytrap7158 if it is already rootbound or roots are coming out I will repot it to a bigger pot (1" bigger than the previous). It should still be fine to repot it this time.

Do the fruits continue to ripen after you pick them still green like that? I’ve been waiting for mine to actually turn orange first. Beautiful background music, by the way! ❤
@njandtxgarden70442 жыл бұрын
Usually I pick them when they are still green to make for juice or to use in cooking. Based on my experience they just dry up if you left them and not use it.

Hi there. I have this calamansi plant which is bearing fruits right now. It’s blooming at the same time with lots of flowers. I am wondering if I can fertilize it while it’s having fruits and flowers at the same time. Plant is indoors since the the last week of September because it gets cold early in the season. I am from Ottawa, Ontario.
@njandtxgarden7044 Жыл бұрын
I fertilize mine even with flowers and fruits, they need that nutrients. But, during winter I only apply 1/2 the strength of the manufacturer's recommendation.

I live in zone 7b I think NYC if I have a citrus tree I have to keep it inside the house or in a green house in the winter in 2020 I had a lemon tree but it died from the cold
@njandtxgarden7044 Жыл бұрын
Yes, they need to be indoor when the night temperature consistently in 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Right now they are indoor and next year in spring when it warms up I bring them out.
