Your advice worked, thank you. We planted a mature Calamansi tree with tons of fruit a few years ago. San Diego, CA - so plenty of sun. This year no blooms. We use drip irrigation and it was thriving with new leaves, but no blooms. Tied off the drip lines for a few weeks and now blooming like crazy! Thanks again.

Hello I like your video. My calamondin has a lot of fruits but they are growing sooo slow. What do I do? I live in a cold zone so i put it in the pot so I can bring it inside the house when the temperature drops.

make sure to give it a good citrus fertilizer, change the soil in your pot at least every two years , 8 hours of sunlight every day:) hope that will help you,, ps dont over water to avoid root rot!

Thank you I’m in Texas and my wife got seeds from her father and we have two trees in pots about 3 years old and they have no flowers at all they are just getting bigger. Gonna try this.
@marcelinanoss88252 жыл бұрын
oh .. if youare ground citrus from seeds, you will have to wait a while before they will bloom and produce fruit. Usually 5 to 7 years before they produce fruit. So, right now just give them fertilizer and get them to your desired size. Always, if youare looking for immediate fruit, get your plants from cuttings, or grafted plants.

excellent video. thank you so much. i have 3 calamondins 1 grows fruit year round, 1 i grew from seed 10 plus years ago, nothing on it except spikes. and 1 that used to produce fruit until i left it out in the cold at winter time. have tried everything i can think of to get the 2 to produce fruit to no avail. i will try additional fertilizer and see if that will help. they both look great, just no fruit. about ready to give up on both of them. thank you

Hi kabayan, did you put stones at the bottom of the pot or not? when I repotted my seedling I put it in a bigger pot with stone at the bottom. Do you think it is good ?
@marcelinanoss88259 ай бұрын
a stone at the bottom of the pot is useful for a couple of reasons. One, it takes up space and requires less soil in your pot, it also may help in water drainage, but other than that, there isnt much other reason.
@Genithineurope9 ай бұрын
@@marcelinanoss8825 I repotted my Kalamansi and removed the stones 😅 I have enough holes to drain the water. I will follow your advice on how to trigger fruits. Though the one I bought is a marcot tiny tree. Looks like bonsai so I potted in a bigger to have enough room to grow. I hope it will grow bigger
@jettereq272 Жыл бұрын
when u say "cutting", is the plant a "marcot" or just plain cutting grown in soil?
@marcelinanoss8825 Жыл бұрын
a cutting is a cutting ( about 6 inches long, pencil thickness) and marcot or airlayering is different

I live near Pensacola and we have some trees in the yard almost 5 years and they are about 6 feet tall and no flowers. I planted some by seed, and I may not live long enough to see them fruit. Our big trees that are 15 years old have so much fruit we can not pick them all.

Hello! My mom gave me a seedling that she grew from the seed of her calamansi tree. Currently it is only 2 feet tall and it is in a 17 gallon tub. There are no branches. It is just a slender stem with many leaves. When do you think it will start branching out? It is going to be 2 years old this spring. I am in zone 7b. I bring it inside during the cold months.
@marcelinanoss88252 жыл бұрын
once your tree gets to the desire height, prune the top 6 inches off and your plant will begin to bush out. Just remember though, citrus started from seed will require you to be patient and wait anywhere from 3 to 5 years before you see the first blossom. If you want instant gratification, get grafted or citrus grown from cuttings.

Try to add coffeegrounds to your soil. Start with a cup and watch the plant over 3 weeks. Also check the pH, it should be acidic. Add more coffee to bring in acidicy and Magnesium, Phosphor, etc.

What does it mean if my calamondin is dropping its fruit?
@marcelinanoss88253 жыл бұрын
if it is dropping all of them, this is not good, but you will drop around half this is normal. The plant will cull its own fruit to lessen the load. The branches will break off if they have too many fruits. Overwatering will also cause your tree to drop fruit. Check for Mealy Bugs, they will hurt your plant and drop fruit. Look under the leaves for little critters that suck the sap from your plant.
