Quick question on the first problem. When you’re solving for magnitude why are the components not squared before being added? Like when you find the magnitude in the next problem. Loving the video so far though! Very easy to follow! Thank you!

I think that you are looking at the "5" term. This is a scaling factor and when you scale a vector by a number the length of the vector scales by the same amount. This is to say that the magnitude of 5 is 5 times the magnitude of . And you will note that when computing the magnitude of I do square, add, and then square root.
