I am a 53 year old female RN just dx with this. I thought I just slept on my neck wrong. My ENT doc said this is a rare case, not one he has seen before. Mind you, he is probably 32.. lol! But... I have been treated with Ampicillin q 6 hours and Vancomycin q 12 hours. As well as 8mg of Decadron every 8 hours. Morphine has been my friend with a couple in between doses of Dilaudid. The pain was a 10/10. Thank you for this informative KZbin video because it educated me on where it is located and possibly how to treat it.

Thanks for this informative video. I was diagnosed with this earlier in the year. It was caught at the ER on the MRI. After steroids and pain meds, symptoms resolved within days. My question is How does this come about? Will this happen again? Anything I can do to prevent in the future? I am not able to find any info on how it comes about. It was so spontaneous.

Yes, similar ton other locations of hydroxyapatite deposits probably nothing you can do.

I have that condition also in right side, symptoms are trismus,pain,limited neck movement while driving,dysphagia, clearing throat, but nothing I can do about it Only can limit symptoms.

I'm looking into this because I went to the E.R. and they saw this on a Cat Scan.... I had only a bad stiff neck... That was killing me... So now I'm looking into this...

what was therapy apart from NSAID, just curious. (p.s. video updating is not possible, it kills the old video and all stats (i believe)
