I'm only a high school student wanting to study medicine one day so I'm not sure if I'm sounding stupid but I think that these kinds of concepts show why chemistry is a requirement when wanting to studying medicine at many universities.

Can you explain why peripheral edema is a side effect?
@JasonWright-hd2yz
@JasonWright-hd2yz 2 ай бұрын
Hi there. Edema from CCBs is caused by vasodilation. It is not a sign of underlying pathology unless they have signs of HF. Hope this helps.

very good video, but why they call patients " clients"?

Nursing education replaced patient with client a few years ago. It was felt that patient reflected the old paternalistic style of healthcare whereas client is a more bidirectional relationship for the person who is receiving healthcare services. I don't entirely agree with it but that was the rationale. I still think patient is the better term for inpatient care.

Because it's a business and businesses are about selling products to you, the "client". Unless you're the person selling it.

Elsevier considers "patients" as their clients. Because, they are doing business for their own profit not for your benefit, remember it.

why are you referring the patients as "clients"?
@cute-little-catto
@cute-little-catto 8 ай бұрын
Client is usually addressed when a person is outpatient. If the person is already confined in the hospital, it is usually refered to as patient.
