Chris, you did a great job, Love your illustration of the formula. Because of your steps in the visual organizer I was able to conceptually see and contrast the first step of raw proportional growth 2.48 with CAGR 's reductive impact of raw proportional growth 1.1992 and then simply subtract 1 for the implied compound rate of .1992. Bravo! You are a great teacher.

Chris, good video! It is about 10 months later and by my calculations your monthly subscriber growth has been 23%. I used PV= 2,592 and FV 21,000 over 10 months. Great job!

Request. There are no you tube videos that show CAGR as well as TOTAL RETURN and ANNUAL RETURN for stock purchase and sale if one can enter their own personal transaction of each purchase and sale. If you can make a video that would help so many of us. Please please make one that calculates all 3 of the rates. Thank you in advance. If you can show also what percentage of your total investment is in each equity that would be a PLUS.

How do you calculate the compound annual growth rate with negative numbers? For example the average yearly growth from a beginning value of -1283 to an ending value of 6701 in time period of five years?
@ChrisMenardTraining5 жыл бұрын
When you have a negative initial value, calculate CAGR based on the first positive initial value you have. You can always make a footnote of the negative year. Example: if you had a project that lost $1,000 in the year 2013, then gained $10,000 in the year 2014, and ended in the year 2017 with $50,000, you might write the following: Revenues grew from $10,000 to $50,000 during the period from 2014-2017. Note that this excluded the initial 2013 year when the project lost $1,000.

what if initial number has negative number? is it still use the same formula of CAGR?
@ChrisMenardTraining4 жыл бұрын
You need to start with a positive number.

What is the logic behind the CAGR test you have made (end value*(cagr^periode)

How can I calculate CAGR and CMGR with quarterly results?
@FinallyLearn3 жыл бұрын
You can calculate the four quarters as if they were four years. You can use the same formula.

what happens when the first year is negative?
@ChrisMenardTraining4 жыл бұрын
Use a year that is not negative. The 1st year can't be negative.
