There seems to be a recent immigration news stating that Dept of Home affairs has slashed State nominated visas by nearly 75% overall. I am in the process of lodging my EOI with 70 PR points based on my skills assessment and English test. Can you help me understand whether I can still go ahead to submit EOI? Wanted your help to throw more light on how it would affect the applicants based on this news.

My recommendation is to go ahead with your process bro. That’s my perception, by the way 🙂 these are usual stuff that government slashing numbers and then increasing it again. Immigration processes are not gonna happen in overnight, minimum it will take 9-10 months.. so if I were you, I would still go ahead and lodge the application.

It's always about individual scores in all 4 sections, not overall scores. The overall score doesn't matter how much you score. If you need 7, then you have to score 7 in all four sections.

Skill assessment and age points are two different things bro, so don’t worry. Age points will be calculated at the time of submitting your EOI after doing everything like skill assessment, meeting English requirements etc.. so if you are done with them and going to submit your EOI, and your age is 32, you will get 30 points.. or 33 you will be getting 25 points.. just an example!

I am trying to get my skills assessed but it seems we need to submit Employment reference that contains roles and responsibilities for all the roles served in the respective employers along with the hours worked per week. I am not sure if I can get this from my previous employers - as you know it’s fairly difficult to get especially from IT MNCs. I also happened to see the statutory affidavit that we can seek from our managers/counterparts who can confirm our roles and responsibilities. Can you guide me here as to which option is better/recommended and which option did you choose during your Skills assessment at ACS?

Hi bro, first of all thanks for your feedback! Regarding your question, I completely understand your concern especially getting from your employer from IT firms. I did use statutory affidavit with help of my manager who signed for my declarations. Do that and you should be fine. Provide payslip’s as supporting documents if you can.

Is it mandatory if the former counterpart should be part of the same company? If they also moved to different companies, can we get their experience certificate to support the declarations? 3. One of my former employers have been acquired by an another employer. I read in ACS guidelines that we need to submit employer name change letter. Is this document mandatory or optional? 4. I am applying under Subclass 190. Do we need to get the state nomination before submission of EOI? Sorry to bombard you with my questions :)

It does mean that you are eligible to apply. Doesn't mean that it will get approval. While you can apply when you score 65 points, does not guarantee you that your application will be approved/visa granted with that point. Suppose if you apply for 189 visa with 65 points, and others applied for the same visa with 90,95 points they will get upper hand and your application will stuck and get delayed.

Hi, As per the government rules, any one can apply for Australia student visa beyond 18 years of age. So yeah technically you can apply. However, for your age they will eye on your age and determine whether your intention is truly to study, nothing more than that. For student visa, applicant should show that they intend to study in Australia then leave (to their home country or otherwise). So if you meet that requirement, yeah you can get student visa and travel to Australia in student pathway!

No, you cannot change your circumstances because you don't get enough points. If you want points from your spouse, they might need minimum score of 50 in each section of PTE or level 6 in IELTS

Still look at Australia’s migration stats bro 😎 If what you said is true, no one will prefer to move and the numbers would be very less. Only then government will change the rules to get more immigrants. But you know what, it’s the opposite! Still more and more immigrants are applying. So when there is a demand you can’t expect them to change as like other countries. And remember one thing, every country has its own policy on this. So better don’t compare. If you cannot meet the requirements for Australia and it’s easy for you to move to Canada, go for it 👍🏻
