what a dude he is using scientific calculator and solving gcf lcm manually
@albertmcchan5 жыл бұрын
Just do 126/567 => 2/9, lcm = 126*9 = 567*2 = 1134, gcd = 126/2 = 567/9 = 63

@albert chan how to do this for 3 numbers
@albertmcchan3 жыл бұрын
Just rinse and repeat lcm(a,b,c) = lcm(lcm(a,b),c); gcd(a,b,c) = gcd(gcd(a,b),c) Example, lcm(126,567,24) = lcm(1134,24) 24/1134 = 4/189 -> LCM = 4*1134 = 4536

This ONLY works if the sum of numerator and denominator coprimes. e.g. in the video, 1134/126=9 1134/567=2 9+2 =11 and 11 coprime with 1134. It will not work on the below example of 15 & 30, 2/30 + 1/30=3/30, and 3 does not coprime with 30, then it is simplified to 1/10. Another example will 15 & 35, the LCM is 105, so it is 7/105 + 3/105, which is 10/105. 10 and 105 do not coprime, so it will be simplifed to 2/21. Conclusion: this doesn't work.

This method works for MOST NUMBERS. some numbers won't work for example. 10 and 15 the LCM is 30 but with this method you will get 6 which is wrong. also: 70 and 50 the LCM is 350 but with this method you will get 175 which is wrong. I'm unsure why this is but yeah...

60 and 44 doesn't work too :(

It's simplifying the numerator and denominator and then displaying the result...

HI, i did it for 15 and 30 just to make sure it works but the LCM i got was 1/10 and is supose to be 30 i dont understand

another way is by testing, if higher no, is divisible by lower then the higher no is the LCM. if not get the next multiple of the higher number (multiply by 2, 3, 4 so on... ) and try dividing by the lower, if it is divisible then that next multiple is the lcm.
