Feb 1996 এ আমি ক্লাস 7 . একটা অদ্ভুত খারাপ লাগা চেপে ধরে এই সময়ের কলকাতার ভিডিও দেখলে। মনে হয় তখনও জীবনটাকে টেনে তোলার অসংখ্য সুযোগ ছিল। সুদিনের আলোতে আর কটা দিন গা সেকে নেওয়ার সময় ছিল। আজ সব কালো।

@@ABO-Destiny তখন পৃথিবীটা অনেক অনেক অন্যরকম ছিল। হয়ত চোখে রঙিন চশমা থাকত সারাক্ষণ তাই পৃথিবীটাকে এত ভালো লাগত। ১৩-১৪ বছর তখন বয়স আমার, ফলে as part of adoloscence বোঝার এবং জানার কোন শেষ ছিল না। কিন্তু আমার অনেক সমসাময়িকরা তখন থেকেই চোখ থেকে রঙিন চশমা ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দিয়ে জীবনটাকে গোছানোর কাজে লেগে পড়েছিল। সেটা আজ বুঝতে পারি সেদিন বুঝিনি। সেদিন তাদের বোকা মনে হয়েছিল আর নিজেকে চালাক। যাদের জন্য সেদিন চালাক সেজে ঘুরে বেড়াতাম আজ তাদের মুখগুলো ও স্পষ্ট করে মনে পড়ে না। শুধু স্মৃতির খাঁচায় তারা বন্দী। এই ধরনের video দেখলে সেই খাঁচা থেকে স্মৃতি গুলো মনের মধ্যে এসে সব গোলমাল পাকিয়ে দেয়। তখন বুঝতে পারিনা আজকের দিনটা সত্যি না সেইদিনগুলো সত্যি ছিল।

I remember back when I was in 4th and 5th standard we frequently used trams as our mode of communication, even I used them while goin to school which ws just just in front of a tram route, it was in 2010s but after 2015s trams significantly declined, now there just handful of them , it's been 4 years since our school tram route was closed. But it will always be in my memory!

I was born a year later, December 1997. Seems so real now seeing my parents getting married on 1996, the air , the breeze feels so fresh. We did really develop. I’m 26 now. I feel sooooo damn old!

@@defencebyshakirahmad3562Kolkata roads are better than roads in Mumbai and Delhi and UP. Frankly Chandigarh roads are the best and well maintained. Yes buildings are too old and they wanna preserve that as cultural heritage. Kolkata IT hub is still under construction it should be constructed in 2015 itself but yeah they are slow. But of all infra in Kolkata i like their roads and mostly roads of saltlake new town such a smooth journey and best for those who have super cars

আমি কলকাতায় প্রথম ট্রামে চড়ি 2005 এ শ্যামবাজার থেকে হেদুয়া স্কটিশ এ আমার কলেজ যেতে গিয়ে, আমি আসানসোলের ছেলে, কলকাতায় এসে ট্রামে চড়া, বাস রুটের নাম্বার মনে রাখা, মেট্রো চড়ে গিরীশ পার্ক থেকে টালিগন্জ পড়তে যাওয়া , স্বপ্নের মতন ছিল সেই দিনগুলো।

90s commute through calcutta was horrible. With the metro railway being constructed, main thoroughways dug up for that the city roads were a mess.

1996 তখন আমার বয়েস 9 আমার খুব ভালো মনে আছে বাবার সাথে বেহালা যাওয়ার সময় ট্রাম এ উঠতাম না উঠলে ও হতো বাস ছিলো তবুও উঠতাম বাবা কে অনেক বার বলার পরে কি যে ভালো লাগতো যখন কলকাতার শক্ত বুকের উপর থেকে ট্রাম টা যখন চলে জয় কি অদ্ভুত আওয়াজ আমার তো সেই ভালো লাগতো আর সেই জন্যই ওঠা হতো তবে শুনছি ট্রাম আর চলবে না শুনে খুব খারাপ লাগছে যদিও এখন আর বেহালা যাওয়া হয় না ,,,তবু ও ট্রাম উঠে যাবে শুনলেই মনটা খারাপ হয়ে যায়,,,,

People get nostalgic watching any 20-30 years old video of their homeland. Kolkata was on the path of decline since naxal movement, which escalated after 1971 Bangladesh war. First the CPIM, then TMC has eradicated the industries out of the state, letting all bengalies fly out of the state. মানুষ তাদের চেনা জায়গার 20-30 বছরের পুরনো ভিডিও দেখে নস্টালজিক হয়ে যায়। নকশাল আন্দোলনের পর থেকে কলকাতা পতনের পথে, যা 1971 সালের বাংলাদেশ যুদ্ধের পর ক্রমবর্ধমান হয়। প্রথমে সিপিআইএম, তারপর টিএমসি শিল্পগুলিকে উচ্ছেদ করেছে, সমস্ত বাঙালিকে আজ রাজ্যের বাইরে চলে যেতে হচ্ছে পেট চালাতে ।
