Note: This video was filmed on December 11th. That night I left Tahoe at 1 am, and made it across Kit Carson pass at 8,000 ft in whiteout conditions. I didn't have good enough Wi-Fi to upload videos until now.

It’s been epic here in South Lake Tahoe ... with the closing of major highways and all the snowfall ...and now with the running out of fuel... prepare now if you haven’t already started

the headset sound was good, and BC had been going thru our own set of problems they mapped out the area over 100 yrs ago in the valley of British Columbia and backed up a lake just so they could make a farm community they have known about it over a 100 years? so check out the Fith estate episode. So could they have planned out communities in California? Most likely Yes, Kathryn. and none of it is your fault and more than a few should be in ya, know what? A problem is solvable, a predicament is more than a problem. These electric companies knew what they were doing. jail.kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWfOpYZpet1nirc

I am so frustrated - I wanted to cover the Colorado firestorm today, live. I see these people fleeing grocery stores, getting in their cars, and driving in the smoke when they should *stay in the parking lot of the grocery stores.* They need guidance on what to do... I don't have a laptop with me. This goes to show I need a powerful laptop so I can stream while traveling.

I wish you could see the area your in and Grizzley Flats in the daylight and no snow. It really is something to see how powerful the fires were and the damage they have done. To see it with your own eyes puts a real perspective on it all. I wish you all an awesome Happy New Year ❤️🧡💙💚♥️

Oh dear, that looks intense. I don't think I can go live in a helpful way. I'm on the road...computer here is an i3 with 8 gigs of RAM. I don't think it would run OBS very well. (Open Broadcaster software.) 110 MPH winds is crazy. :(

Hey Kathryn You know 2 people (father and son) were arrested and charged with arson for the Caldor fire. As I am watching your test I am currently following the massive wildfire in Colorado so far the towns of Louisville and Superior in Bolder county wind gusts peeking over 100 mph all fires are moving south east. And as usual I'm also tracking tornado's in Georgia.

The winds have been continuous & brutal & until snow began at 5-6pm tonight it was 30~40mph with gusting to idk the sound of these winds were eerie for days between snow storms. List poles on I-15 lost trees yesterday behind my home ... praying the 80 foot tall 'weed trees' which were trimmed incompletely past summer do not fall on my home nor my power lines ... i still need get a generator

There is a future technology coming that will use sound waves to kill fires. I've seen the demonstration. In the hopefully near future, drones will deploy at the first detection wherever it is and use sound waves to smother it before it can get very far.

Lets hope these roads get closed. We need the snow and water so these forests can start recovering.

Unfortunately...far as the eye can see...there is no forest. All the dead trees need to be removed, or else, in 2-3 years: A 2nd, worse wildfire will sweep through. This time, the tree trunks will burn. (They don't burn the first time due to water storage in bark and trunk.) All it takes for a worse wildfire to happen - is 2 to 3 years of brush growth. Once it dries out - it's like stacking kindling at the base of a bonfire. Each tree trunk can burn for more than 1,000 hours. Repeat wildfires are worse than the first always for this reason. It has to be logged as quickly as possible to prevent a repeat disaster. (Even if the lumber isn't salvageable.) Sometimes folks are concerned about salvage logging " harming the regrowth." But in a mega fire - there is no regrowth. All pine cones are incinerated. It'll be a replanting job - or else it'll be just bushes and black stumps for 60+ years.

Love & light. Safe travels getting back to a safe place before the blizzard sets in. Where is Twist not to drive down a Snowy Road in the middle of the Wilderness knowing that the blizzard was coming I used to vacation in those places. I can't even imagine what it must feel like To be present to such Devastation on such a large scale. Hopefully answers will be forthcoming soon.

Hey Dee.. this was filmed December 11th. I did get out of Tahoe that night - and crossed Kit Carson pass (8,000 feet) in a whiteout. If I had waited 20 more minutes I would have been stuck in the snow near tahoe. I thought I was clear about that on my Christmas video that I had gotten out of the mountains already but I probably should write in the description this is December 11th
