I bought the rest as I wanted one and could afford it. Hence my honest review to help others out and decide if they think it is worth the money.

How smooth is the joystick? I’m a .22 rimfire bench rest shooter and I’m looking for something that provide real precision. I wouldn’t be buying the full length version, I’d be looking by at the front rest version only, it’s so much cheaper!

Steve, THANK YOU! I recently purchased the Caldwell, Fire Control Full length Rest, and was initially disappointed with it. It just wasn't compatible with my shorter rifles. Then, I read your review, which included a simple fix for shortening the rest. 10 minutes later, taking my time with a Dremel tool, and all is well! I will eventually drill the tubes, as the single clamp bolt holds the front and rear together quite well. I think I would only drill the two tubes if I made frequent changes, and I don't envision doing that. I was ready to return this rest and try something else. Now, I'm keeping it!

Great review Steve. I just want to point out your title says "Crossfire" and it is "Fire Control" Keep up the good work.

Hia Steve. I have had one for a few years now. I find that it is realy good for low recoil rifles and use it up to243 win. The design of the rear rest does not alow for free recoil and does not perform well with my 6.5 Creedmore chassis rifle. With air, rim and smaller centrefire it performs well and is well worth the retail price.

Hi, it's over priced by £450, for the average shooter the £40, one from Amazon is the ticket, maybe you have a shop may be.

Could you put a link up please👍

Can you show the Amazon one please. £450. No thank you I'll pass on this as most will I think.

Great review and a great point about the (non)adjustable bars. I’d add a little grease where you’ve ground and drilled to stop any rusting. 👍 I’d love one but way too pricey. I’ll be heading to Amazon in the near future. I’m also hunting for a cheapish, height adjustable stool because the plastic garden chairs at my local range do not put me in the perfect position.

A full stand in my mind is for working on the rifle and zeroing, not for shooting targets with. A rifle like a pcp with zero recoil zeroed on a target is simply pulling a trigger and skill less.

Great vid Steve, but Steve I don’t know if your getting my messages but will you and can you produce a fx chronograph cradle to mount on my side rail on my maverick.

Hi Steve love your vids is there any chance you could start a discussion on extras and bloody ridiculous pricing as an example the new adjustable rear stand for the impact the price for basically a single foot that you can get for a few ponds is on a padded foot and priced at £220 + a bracket for the stock another £120 it’s an absolute joke and many other items also. Thank you

The air gun world is crazy. That price and they can't be bothered putting a spirit level on it or stuff to fill the supports. The r&d is shocking, the first air gun enthusiast they showed this to would have pointed out its faults.

i love my shooting but at that crazy price its not for me.

Honestly it is nice but over priced by about 300$. Not very well thought out imho. You pointed out several flaws and more will come out in time I’m sure. Making the length adjustable is a big improvement for sure. I will stay with the Precision Turret for now and the Lead Sled. I will find a buyer for the Stinger. The SK-19 doesn’t fit very well on the styling of the Stinger. Long guns are better suited for its stying. Thanks for the video and info. Take care.

Steve i have a question. I know we say pcp's are recoiless rifles, but this is not true it's just the recoil is unnoticeable. And I know from experience that if you secure a weapon it will completely change the characteristics of the gun. So would a rifle that is poor in the the real world of shooting due to bad harmonics be greatly improved by such a brace, as it will improve it's bad harmonics there for a false idea of it's true accuracy in the real world. Surely a simple rest would be more useful. You claim your shooting is not good enough and you want to take away the human element, but is it not more useful to compere with human inefficiency so we are getting a real world test. Yes if you are reviewing a bench rest rifle fare enough. But surely in real world shooting balance, weight, harmonics. Are all part of the accuracy of a rifle.

£500 plus and needs work to make it fully adjustable (length wise) and a cheapo unfilled front bag = well over priced - no thanks Steve!

Absolutely ridiculous,, if you want to take human error out,, clamp your rifle in 2 vices,,, simple 😂😂😂
