Since someone asked, "hit it" is in reference to the BMK dethermalizer armband Caleb is using.

Your son has quite an arm on him! Does he play any sports (other than flying model airplanes?) 🙂 Your sons will have memories building and flying airplanes with you for years to come!

I can see what you're up to Josh. You've certainly got Caleb and Paul well trained! If you can also teach them how to do a picnic, then you can have a day's flying without Hope or yourself having to lift a finger! 🤣Seriously, these tip launchers are excellent, robust enough for the tip launch and yet REAL gliders.. Great designs. 🌟🌟🌟🌟👍

thats a great launch technique and suitable for smaller hands. I like building micro gliders from sheet balsa as they are robust and relatively quick to build and repair. I spent my youth doing this until a dog thought it was the best flying stick he'd ever seen and that was that. i still make them from time to time and learnt about what works and what doesn't so that now I can get then right first time. The launch for me was something I learned from a guy flying a chuck biplane. First and second finger on the trailing edge either side of the fuselage. Thumb and third finger on the nose. A flick of the hand and releasing the thumb and third first and you get a high speed launch that can't be matched by a regular chuck. not tried this on anything over 25cm (10") wingspan. the biplanes were around15cm (6"). Thanks for posting the video as always great to see!

Build a full sized Sweepette 19 or 20 sometime. You'll love it. Far less effort to launch and they glide great!

Getting some good launches. I cannot get my gliders to transition. Straight up, straight down.
@joshuawfinn Жыл бұрын
Add more bank on launch and/or an up-elevator gurney flap. Straight up Straight down is usually just an indicator that you need more incidence.
@johnmajane3731 Жыл бұрын
@@joshuawfinn okay the one glider is basically at 0/0 that makes sense.
