I was once in Skagit river and I understand, why Skagit type of fly lines was invented there :-) . I was in the place, where's almost impossible to fly fish from the bank - high bank lined with trees, and immediate depth , which restricts wading. I understand that whole river is not like this, but I didnt catch anything there, i spent most time snagging the trees and fighting with cast... it was before Skagit invention. Thanks those who invented this thing!

I like to cast them. Makes it seems so easy! I usualy use my 7'6" 3 weight, and I can throw some pretty good size steamers. Caught fish where I thought impossible! Hank you for making such a wonderfull product.

For pure skagit, what to use with my Hardy Zenith Sintryx 13,6 #8 and my Winston 15,0 #10? In advance thanks for your answers!

Plenty of fishermen fish only Skagit with a 13'6" 8 wt. That big 10 wt might be another story.

What size skagit OPST for HARDY DEMON 11'9 wt 7 switch rod ,please ?
What is your line recomendation for at 9' 8/9 weight
@jti37165 жыл бұрын
Matthew Hochstrasser sorry for the delayed response. If your rod is more towards a 9wt, our 300grn commando will pair properly. If interested, our lazar line in 35-40# and sink tips in 7.5 and 10’ will pair.

This is closer to what I am looking for. But I have no idea which wt or length of the rod is. Or what choices he made with his line and why he may have made those choices. Do you need a heavier for a shorter rod? What about the action of the rod How will that change the coices of line from head to tip? There are no videos with philosophy of use. How to get to an informed starting point so I can start to fine tune my choices. plus it would be nice to see a company that is based in an area close to so many salmon fishing options, to show a video of salmon fishing. Or maybe, the skagit system has no additional benefit for heavier weighted rods.
