I reached old age, and the doctor prescribed hearing aids, the kind with a little bitty speaker that goes right into rhe auditory canal. Holy Camoly, I've never had headphones this good before. It's like being inside the fiddle and guitar. These two musicians together are sublime. Each song is so soulful! There still is serendipity in old age! I've loved roots music all my life, but what a joy to hear it properly.

I am the Bellingham "fellow" who gave old Lilly Brothers and Don Stover recordings to Caleb and Reeb. Little Annie was brought into bluegrass by their 1957 recordings on Event Records. I got "Gypsy's Warning" from a privately held 1962 recording of the Lilly Brothers and Don Stover concert at Harvard University. This was probably the first bluegrass concert at Harvard. I was attracted to Caleb and Reeb by their beautiful music and associated them with the Lilly Brothers who similarly played as a mandolin & guitar duo starting in the 1930s until transitioning primarily to bluegrass when their childhood neighbor in West Virginia, the legendary Don Stover, joined them on banjo in the early 1950s. The Lilly Brothers and Don Stover were so popular at the venue (Hillbilly Ranch in Boston) where they played seven nights a week from 1952 until 1970 that the owners of the Ranch paid them more than traveling bands were paid and contractually kept them from traveling to record or play elsewhere. That is a reason why Mike Seeger brought a high-quality recording system to Boston to record them for Folkways/Smithsonian. I love that Caleb and Reeb are now doing some of their songs and doing them so beautifully!

Hallo Caleb and Madam Wilms : One can't expect folks from english speaking areas to pronounce the danish letter Ø. But it is spoken almost like the sound in your article "THE" --- till next time you land in TØNDER. I think you re doing reall great I am an old bluegrass man (banjo+ fiddle) Over here people do not clap their hands since it almost too often disturbs the pulse. So do not panic. One of the songs the color of the blues, reminds me me of an oooold lp record from the 50ies "tennessee saturday nite" the song was "everytime I'm kissing you, i think of you kissing him" ---- Youre doing it reeeeaally great, I enjoy your singing.
