Canelo KO'd Plant not just on power but on timing and placement of the punch. Canelo had missed a potential KO punch rounds earlier that barely missed when Plant was on the ropes in a defensive stance, as it appeared he was underestimating Canelo's ability to take advantage of openings. Then Canelo caught him with a hook as he left himself open that same way again while in a defensive position. Canelo's ring smarts made the difference, as it has for him against other fighters who don't adjust to his style. Plant is a defensive whiz but he did not adjust his style to offset Canelo.

it wasn't just the one shot that beat caleb. Pacquiao vs Marquez 4.. that was a one shot that got pacman. Canelo systematically kept attacking the body to slow caleb down. once he had him tired enough.. he faked going downstairs and caught him flush upstairs.. Caleb's lack of experience (21 fights in) and never have faced adversity so he had no idea how to react. This is why i praise Devin Haney.. he got rocked by Linares, but he held it together, and now that he knows what thats like he knows how he will behave in that situation. This is the problem with the PBC guide to their fighters.. they have terrible match making, in where they put their marquee fighters either against low caliber opponents (no Hopers) or guys that pose no real significant threat to them.. because the folks at PBC want to have their undefeated fighters be in a bubble. Top Rank, Golden boy.. and now matchroom with their UK fighters.. they have a sink or swim mentallity with their young guys.

Caleb speed or rate could have worked against him. He touched Canelo up the entire fight. Canelo just thought throw bombs. This fight remind me of amateurs. A fighter can touch a fighter up all bout long,but if the other fighter gets the knock down he/she wins. Caleb Philly 🐚 was working for him he just got caught by a few that cost him.
