Caleb's Story: Intensive Rehabilitation After Naegleria Fowleri (Brain-eating Amoeba)

After contracting Naegleria fowleri, commonly referred to as a brain-eating amoeba, Caleb Z.’s family was told that his condition was 99% fatal. However, not only did the Florida teenager survive but, in the time since, he’s been on an intensive rehabilitation journey to relearn all skills, from walking to talking. Today, he’s using his voice and experience to educate people about Naegleria fowleri.
