Whoever they get at #9, either a WR, o-line, or DE will be a top blue chip player that should instantly make the offense or defense better. So caleb is going to a solid team AND only gonna be better after that 9th pick

It's wild that of all the #1 overall QB's to end up going to a downright anomalously stacked team. This season is probably one of the most important seasons in the history of the Chicago Bears. I hope Caleb somehow lives up to the hype, because that eould make for some amazing football

@@e2rqey thats why, Poles trading that pick last year to the Panthers specifically, was an insane move. If he traded to the texans or colts, i doubt the bears would have the #1 pick this year. Crazy how Lovie Smith’s win changed the Texans and Bears franchise forever

4 things that CANNOT be taught; 1. Field vision 2. Pocket presence 3. Strong arm 4. Lightning quick release. Caleb had ALL 4 of those traits. I was not his biggest fan, at first, but I did what you should do and that is watch a TON of tape. I know there is no such thing as a "can't miss QB" but he is about as close as it comes. I'm super excited to see him take Chicagoland by storm. 🐻⬇️ ✌️✝️

Well summarized!
@threezysworld8089
@threezysworld8089 5 ай бұрын
I was trying to explain that to people. He's a Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck etc class coming out where I think at the very minimum he's a Kirk Cousins-esque QB, a "serviceable" franchise QB. He's that "can't miss". That's his floor, to me he looks very much like Aaron Rodgers. Not saying he for sure will be HOF but he should be no worse than a pretty good franchise QB, and Bears were a couple games out the playoffs with the worst QB in the NFL. I'd be surprised if they don't make the postseason, likely as a wildcard team.
@pttthhh

Well done. I still see so many comments from fans that somehow know Caleb will bust or we should draft Daniels or Maye without having watched anything Caleb has done. They just repeat the bad takes from other people that didn't actually watch the film.

Williams is going into a great situation, he has two legit WR's, a possible 3rd, 2 very good TE's , and two excellent receiving RB's, not to mention the Bears should have a top rushing attack and a good Defence.

Im glad i hear a lot of people comparing him to aaron rodgers and not just mahomes. The way he buys time and finds the open man totally reminds me of rodgers more than any other QB. He actually had a better passer rating in his final season compared to his Heisman winning season. His O-line was absolute garbage and that absolutely ATROCIOUS defense at USC did him no favors AT ALL and yet he still posts a season with his best overall passer rating in his college career! Not to mention of his 5 total INTs (only) 3 of them came in a single game against a great defense in Notre Dame in which he was pressured nearly every dropback and the defense was just booty hole! You could at least do the bare minimum research before making yourself and your comments invalid and without merit.

@Mookie10Blaylock he's not even the best qb to come out of the Lincoln Riley system. He played in the PAC 12 and had trouble with them, hell he couldn't get past a Utah scheme even in his Heisman year that doesn't have even a top 2 round defensive talent coming out. Imagine he played LSU, Alabama and Texas this year. He wouldn't have even been a top 2 round qb, Williams is wildly inconsistent and has trouble reading college defenses. He is going to have a better team than Young had this year but I imagine he is going to struggle just as bad.

A lot of USCs problems stemmed from Lincoln Riley. Sometimes he had the lead and then just abandoned the run game. Led to the OL guys missing a block or 2 and then Caleb's buttefingers messed things up. Some people have said that "Caleb should go to Commanders because of the familiarity there". Makes you think how little do they know his problem in college was very much on coaches. And that's ok to say I think. That team will get better. Caleb will get better with Da Bears. So you'd think! The difference that nobody talks about: his Mind. Arm strength, accuracy, running ability/vision (for a QB), mobility in the pocket, etc., all elite. His mental makeup is not just that, it's unmatched by any quarterback I ever scouted out of college. Why is his game so well put together? His mind accentuates all his tools. His post-snap ability to process and break down defenses, his spontaneous creativity, his competitive juice and leadership are optimized upstairs. I'm the guy since December, before the hero narrative, who was fighting everyone about his elite level of play within structure and that he PREFERS it. Patrick-like? Sure. But I have not read or heard one person ever say he COULD be better than Mahomes. It's hard to call right now, but I'm here to tell you there exists a world where he is.

I can’t compare Caleb to Mahomes. Mahomes is in such a better situation to start. Better coach and front office and supporting players to start his career. I think Caleb will struggle for 2-3 years due to a non advantageous playbook, Coach, and GM. On the flip side McCarthy begins his career sitting for at least one year and learning from O'Connell. Vikings will continue to build around him and the wr core of Jefferson, Addison, and Hockenson will provide major leverage at the beginning of his career. The Lions will remain the team to beat due to coaching and front office. The Packers and Bears will likely have better quarterbacks but really only The Packers have shown consistency in their front office. I see the Lions and Packers fighting for the top of the division, with the Vikings and Bears finishing third and fourth. I think with time the Vikings will be in the fight as well. Chicago remains largely dysfunctional which will result in a lot of turnovers for Caleb. Without question the talent remains but a poor supporting cast, decisions like bringing in aging receivers and DeAndre Swift when the line should have been bolstered hold them back. The playbook is also not unique or special to capitalize on Caleb’s best traits.

Top 10 D that conceded 17 per game after Sweat arrived which led league. Moore and Allen have more yards than any duo last year. Kmet is ascending at TE. Lost no impact players. Extra top 10 pick to either improve either line or at WR. Im not arguing Eberflus is Andy Reid or it is as good as the Vikings situation, but to say it is a poor supporting cast is nonsense. They went 7-10 with a division 2 UDFA rookie for a month and a starter that the league said was worth a future 6th as a backup. If Caleb is good the Bears will be a good spot to show that.
