I was trying to explain that to people. He's a Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck etc class coming out where I think at the very minimum he's a Kirk Cousins-esque QB, a "serviceable" franchise QB. He's that "can't miss". That's his floor, to me he looks very much like Aaron Rodgers. Not saying he for sure will be HOF but he should be no worse than a pretty good franchise QB, and Bears were a couple games out the playoffs with the worst QB in the NFL. I'd be surprised if they don't make the postseason, likely as a wildcard team.

Not to mention of his 5 total INTs (only) 3 of them came in a single game against a great defense in Notre Dame in which he was pressured nearly every dropback and the defense was just booty hole! The difference that nobody talks about: his Mind. Arm strength, accuracy, running ability/vision (for a QB), mobility in the pocket, etc., all elite. His mental makeup is not just that, it's unmatched by any quarterback I ever scouted out of college. Why is his game so well put together? His mind accentuates all his tools. His post-snap ability to process and break down defenses, his spontaneous creativity, his competitive juice and leadership are optimized upstairs. I'm the guy since December, before the hero narrative, who was fighting everyone about his elite level of play within structure and that he PREFERS it. Patrick-like? Sure. But I have not read or heard one person ever say he COULD be better than Mahomes. It's hard to call right now, but I'm here to tell you there exists a world where he is.

I can’t compare Caleb to Mahomes. Mahomes is in such a better situation to start. Better coach and front office and supporting players to start his career. I think Caleb will struggle for 2-3 years due to a non advantageous playbook, Coach, and GM. On the flip side McCarthy begins his career sitting for at least one year and learning from O'Connell. Vikings will continue to build around him and the wr core of Jefferson, Addison, and Hockenson will provide major leverage at the beginning of his career. The Lions will remain the team to beat due to coaching and front office. The Packers and Bears will likely have better quarterbacks but really only The Packers have shown consistency in their front office. I see the Lions and Packers fighting for the top of the division, with the Vikings and Bears finishing third and fourth. I think with time the Vikings will be in the fight as well. Chicago remains largely dysfunctional which will result in a lot of turnovers for Caleb. Without question the talent remains but a poor supporting cast, decisions like bringing in aging receivers and DeAndre Swift when the line should have been bolstered hold them back. The playbook is also not unique or special to capitalize on Caleb’s best traits.
