The thing about haters is they always can move the goal post or postpone it . He could play amazing his rookie year but then say well he’s not top 5 or 10.. or they could say it’s a fluke and you have to wait til next year to prove it wasn’t. For example look at like Lebron or Mahomes they still have annoying haters who act like they are failures if they aren’t the undisputed #1 all time . Every QB including Brady, Rodgers, and Mahomes over or under throws passes. No QB throws perfect every single throw, but you look at plays like that 45 yard bomb on the run to left ro Odunze and you can tell he is the real deal, and elite, but he still is going to go through rookie ups and downs. I have yet to see Fields to this day even come close to completing 1 pass as sick as that one to Rome.

He’s thrown no TD’s, is completing under 50% of his throws while his undrafted back up counter part has thrown 3 TD’s and is completing almost all of his throws against the same guys Caleb did. He has no pocket presence, can’t read defenses, can’t even complete high completion % throws. The Bears have traded spots with the Browns as most embarrassing, poorly managed team in a decade.

@@nd3991 My only concern about Caleb's situation is an undo amount of risk for serious injury. I think of the Joe Burrow situation the year he took the team to the SB. He got beat up and it seems that it's taken a toll? Now, the Bears O-line is better then the Bengals was/is. However, look at the Lions, Packers and even the Vikings. They've got elite to every good lines (depending on which team we're talking about) For a team to win at the big boy table, you've got to have a great line. I really would like to see what Canel would look like behind Detroit's line. If I was the Bears GM, I would get the very best line that I could!

For reference long term I think Caleb will be the best from this draft by far and away. But bears fans need to put the breaks on for season expectations here. Don’t think he has a very stout o line to work with. Having said that looks very nervous in the pocket like he’s not comfortable progressing through his reads quite yet (could be due to lack of confidence in protection or not a good grasp on concept up to you on that) and is probably going to depend a lot on hero ball. Yes the bears beefed up quite a bit in the offseason. But this dude still needs a year under his belt before a fair evaluation is hit he looked pretty raw still in his mechanics
