Isn't that exactly what happened in Rick and Morty? That's why whenever I have that fantasy, it isn't just quicksaves, it's multiple save files, with file names. Save at the start, then you can live life a certain way, save, go back to the start, live a different way, then swap back and forth between different save files. As well as keeping your favourite moments as save files. Like that time you had a threesome with twins, or that party that ended up being the best party you ever went to. Or the time you kicked your bosses ass. Just revisit them whenever you want.
