I'm so excited to see you go hard in this format. I watched a video of someone drafting this a while back in pax, and I was so disappointed, they had a few moxen and assumed they were invincible. You're one of the few that set a high standard in cubes.

I am absolutely loving this format, everyone gets awesome decks and so far my opponents have been pretty chill. I hope to see (at least) a couple more videos of this from you! For my first league I went 2-1 with a pretty clunky deck, but had double sol ring. Was mostly missing a win con. Not enough artifacts for my Urza. Favorite play so far: turn 1 island, mox sapphire, ancestral recall. Opponent forces my recall, and i spell pierce their force :). Even if I just go 2-1 for matches every time, I'll be happy with that!

I don't see that happening. They literally just cut possibly the best red card in the cube (fiery confluence) for what I think is just an unplayable card (krark the thumbless).

Upheaval can work as a way to get your storm counter up, since everything is just recastable, and it's slightly set your opponent back. It can also be done to recur mana.

43:20 I was wondering why Narset didn't overwrite hullbreacher, but it's because Narset lets your opponent draw ONE card. So they try and draw one card, it gets replaced by hullbreacher, so then they try and draw their second card, but it's still their first, so Narset doesn't stop it, and so on. If hullbreacher had Narset's phrasing, that wouldn't have worked (I think).

It probably doesn't matter whatsoever, but in Match 1 G2, what about upticking Dak targeting them while you have a Hullbreacher on the field. Then if they have the Hullbreacher you decide if you want to attack into it and they have to discard. Just a thought.

In the final game of round 1 couldn't you have targeted them with dack fayden to force them to discard to and you gain 2 treasures. That seems like a safer move as it forces them to start top decking if they had the hullbreacher

Dack Fayden uptick can be used to make the opponent discard if you have hullbreacher.

When they announced this, it was clear in my head that like other supreme formats you’d get 18 packs at the start and draft from those. It was also clear in my head that as the cube is 540 cards, they would generate 18 packs from the same pool. Apparently either I, or WotC, is an idiot, I just can’t work out who. I was super stoked to try this format out when it was announced but this just looks un-fun af.

So the vintage cube has 450 cards, of which maybe 9 are considered tier 1 power (5 moxes, lotus, time walk, recall, sol ring). You see 270 cards here, so the AVERAGE deck has 5.4 pieces of tier 1 power????! Mana crypt might be tier 1 too edit: Hullbreacher is the 11th power

Haven't seen the matches yet, but I'm going to guess that blue and black are the only viable colors. It looks too fast for any of the other 3. Editing after seeing matches, and between Caleb's deck and the 3 opponents, all 4 are blue. Why am I not surprised?

Though never even mentioning it as an option seems a bit weird, though I struggle to imagine you didn't know how that works.
