Instead of the sad story from the manga, they choose the American super hero genre, making him fight a monster every week, his attacks where translate to English to sound awesome. The first Devilman anime is an American superhero inspiration.

Davi Long If you like Devilman but the netflix version is a lil too rough, read some of the original manga. It's still rough, but less, and I find there are more wacky antics sprinkled in which help lessen some of the super crazy stuff. It's actually releasing in book form later this year!
