I’m on the fence about purchasing this camera, but the fact that it has dual Sony IMX577 sensors is a major factor for me. I’ve heard great things about this sensor’s performance in other devices, and pairing it with a 8K resolution in this camera sounds like a dream for VR180 content.

Those Sony IMX577 sensors are top-notch! They’re used in a lot of high-end devices, and for a VR camera, they seem like a great fit for capturing crisp, immersive footage.

I just got it. With this firmware that has camera now, the videos are very bad. Frames dropping is amazing and in low light the subject is moving 15 frames/second! I really hope they will fix it soon

This review makes me seriously consider buying the CALF 2nd Gen 3D VR180 camera. The fish eye lenses and wide angle shots seem like they could offer a more impressive VR experience than my current setup, so I am leaning towards getting one.

Thanks for the review. Can you tell me that ERP mode is? What services can it live-stream to? When you plug it into a computer via USB, does it just show up as a drive so you can copy files off?

I haven’t bought it yet, but the compact design and lightweight build of the Calf camera attract me. For VR180 content, it seems like a good balance between portability and power. Plus, the fact that it has 2H of continuous recording time is a nice bonus.

why the white balance differs so much left and right? Left is more green while right is more red. In Hugh's sample (and also my qoocam) the sharpness differs left vs right.

Right now it's having bought a brick of plastic costing around 1000 €. They made mistakes on my order and I had to pay other 180 € for custom duties (they have to pay it upfront because this value is included in the price). I received it but I couldn't make it working since I'm not able to make an account (it says wrong password but there is no way to recover it). I asked for an invoice for my company, but still waiting for it since 2 weeks. Awful support and bad product/firmware

I love the fact that this camera can shoot 8K 30fps videos. For someone like me who wants to dive into VR content creation, these specs seem perfect for getting high-quality footage. I’m still debating if I should go for it, but the dual fisheye lenses and Sony sensors make it hard to resist.

I'm pleased that development is continuing. But I'm also a little shocked that Calf is only giving just one fixed color/contrast setting with the Visinse. Why can't we switch between 3 settings? At the moment, even for me, the image is too high in contrast, and black areas are completely drowned out. I love bright colors, but this is way too much. Please make a three-stage selection in the setup and I'll buy this camera.

The lack of 3d movies kill it. Cinema studios scraped the idea of making more 3d movies because of the cost. Maybe tey will bring it back because with AI technology will be much easier for them to make these movies.

The build quality of the Calf 2nd Gen seems solid, especially with its all-metal body and the included cooling fan. I haven’t bought it yet, but knowing that it’s durable and can handle long recording sessions is giving me more confidence in this camera.
