Honestly how did that zipper not pull away. I have duo boots little tight need to stretch them half an inch. I've been wearing them around the house with thick socks for few hours a day for few days now and still no stretch. I keep thinking the zipper is going to give or the stitching especially on my right leg. Nubuck on outside

1/2" of relief on this stretch, and you mention that you can stretch them again to get up to 1" of extra calf width... how would this change if boots were of patent leather? Patent is obviously more resistant to stretching but can you still get results without damaging the finish? (Very helpful video - thank you!)

We can stretch any material except plastics and rubbers. Patent leather is no problem. You always have to be careful no matter the material.

Very informative video. It seems that Cobblers/ Shoe maker services are more difficult to come by these days. We used to have several in my neighborhood and now they are few and far in between.. I've always been curious about the boot stretching process. I'd heard it could be done but it's nice to see an actual video. I purchased a boot..knee length..online.. probably not a wise thing to do considering my big calves and shapely legs. It's always tricky because you don't know if the boot will be able to zip up.. These appeared to have an elastic panel under a buckle at top of boot so that gave me hope. Needless to to say boot arrived and appears to be tight & difficult to zip.from.the bottom of boot. This company is located in the UK and doesn't offer free returns right now so its not worth the cost of shipping back to UK..considering weight,height, distance. I've been pondering some alternative solutions because the boot really is nice.

Isn't it easier to pour water into shoes and put them in the freezer ?
@classicshoeleatherservice1765 Жыл бұрын
No. That is a method for thick leather work boots, not high fashion soft leather or any color other than black. Also water is very damaging to leather.

I wanted to put a 1 inch insert in my boots but the cobbler told me it was impossible and basically fat shamed me. Should I go to someone else?
@classicshoeleatherservice17653 жыл бұрын
Yes, you need to go to a qualified cobbler. You need a gusset. They are not difficult to do. If you can't find a local person, we do UPS service everyday.

I really want to purchase a pair of boots with the circumference on 14 inches but my calves are 17 inches … Is it possible to stretch that much or should I forget about it? Lol
@classicshoeleatherservice17653 жыл бұрын
3 inches is an extreme stretch, unlikely to be successful. I would recommend installing gussets if you really want the boots.
