Just had a look and I can see a couple advertised as salvage for £650, I guess if you had the ability to find one that was used as trade in maybe £500 isn’t to unrealistic... insurance write off bought for scrap but kept functioning perhaps. Loads of stuff out there if you are prepared to look and don’t want to put it on the road (or are very handy)

Aa soon as when you both had purchase the cars, without knowing the stats for the cars, It was pretty easy to tell which one was going to be faster. The Miata is way lighter and even though it has a smaller motor especially with that much less weight it was hard to get something that would beat it. It was fun to watch though, love the competition, you were both a good sport about it 🙂
