You were literally staying just a few blocks from me - I moved to Calgary from Houston Texas... another scorching hot place with temps similar to Perth. I know you're ending up in BC, but you might want to consider moving to Alberta when you get the chance - there are no provincial taxes here! I nearly had a panic attack walking onto the glass floor in the tower. Just as I stepped on it, some 8 yr old kid ran up next to me and started jumping up and down. I seriously love it here and I hope you and your family will be as happy in Canada as I am.

Hey! It's not often I see my city even though its massive. Usually its either Vancouver or Toronto. Hope you enjoyed your visit :) If you ever get the chance, come back in the spring/summer and its like a completely different city all over again.

Just stumbled on your channel. My family and I are just about to move to Alberta from the NT. We got our PR approved a couple of months ago. It's going to be a big change for all of us, especially for our 3 kids who have known nothing but wet and dry season weather in outback Australia. Going to be an amazing adventure!

Awesome. So glad to hear someone from rural Aus is also moving. I go between really wanting to get to Canada asap because of the heat, flies and snakes in rural Aus. But then I think about how much I'll miss the dry heat, summer storms, sheep etc.... Have you guys been to Canada before or have family there? We have no family there. Looking forward to our move just worried about ranching over there. Will be a whole new learning experience in the snow lol. Will you buy a Ranch there?
@jai95044 жыл бұрын
@@BecOutWest no family there for us. We won't be buying a ranch either. We plan on travelling around a bit before permanently settling somewhere. And we haven't spent much time there at all. Just going with our gut feeling

There are so many beautiful places to visit in Alberta. Of course Banff and Jasper top the list. The glorious lakes and waterfalls in Banff. Take the icefields parkway up to Jasper. The trip is considered the most senic drive in the world. On the way to Jasper visit the Columbia ice fields. Take a special crawler up onto the athabasca glacier. Take a water bottle along and scoop up pure glacier water. In southern Alberta, visit Head Smashed in buffalo jump, the best preserved buffalo jump in the world and a world heratige site. Visit the Frank slide, where in 1903 110 million tonnes of limestone rock slid down Turtle mountain in the early morning hours onto the town of Frank. Visit Drumheller in the badlands, go to the Royal Tyrell Museum, home to some of the best preserved dinosaur fossils in the world. Welcome to Alberta.

I am born and raised Calgarian and love this city. I know you would have had a much better time here in the summer season. But all is well winter is a beautiful time of the year to. Great video thanks for showing off this great city.

Thank you! We had an absolute ball in Winter so can only imagine summer there! We are still moving abroad but stuck in Australia until Covid passes. We still love Aus though... Just not the heat of summer here.... 47°c is wayyy too hot 🔥

Just found your channel. We are in a similar situation to you guys ... living in Australia currently waiting on our Canada visa (PR) to move to Calgary. We checked out Vancouver, Torronto, Ottawa and Calgary on a recky trip last year. Calgary won hands down for us with Ottawa second. Hope you get your visa soon :-)

Awesome. Which state in AUS are you guys? We're in WA. We will move somewhere in Alberta. But we are eventually buying a Ranch so won't be in Calgary itself 😊 we can't wait to move. Just waiting on the house to sell here in AUS first! Goodluck! 👍

If it's not windy, a t-shirt is perfectly reasonable attire for -14°.
@BecOutWest3 жыл бұрын
Yep i was surprised to not feel too bad in - 14°c.
@SylviusTheMad3 жыл бұрын
@@BecOutWest The dry air and low pressure helps a lot. Much colder and it's just cold, but at -14° the humidity still plays a huge part in how cold you feel. And Calgary is about 1000 m above sea level, so there's less air to transfer heat away from you.

@@BecOutWest Sorry, i didn't check it and i assumed you already lived there! Note: When i first became interested in Canada, there was almost no information in the Internet, KZbin didn't existed and the ones who have an emigration program were the British. I subscribed to a Magazine to British emmigrants (I live in Puerto Rico, a USA territory in the Caribbean.), that i received in the mail, and gathered a lot of info about the country. (That was in the last decades of the 20 Century) Because of personal circumstances (The illness of my elderly parents among others), i never moved there. Since then, Canada has received millions of immigrants (From India, the Middle East, From Southwest Asia, USA, Mexico, Colombia, Brasil, Etc.
