What an amazing tour. Your voice has a perfect tone for reading about the mill and milling process. Reusing shorn sheep wool to make beautiful items that will be used to create decorative and useful goods is amazing. I love working with fiber, knitting, embroidery, quilting. And more. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!

Love the visit to the mill. I have a fleece I'm prepping for spinning now. It is fascinating to see how the big mills do it.

Thank you both for the great video of the carding mill machines. The process is quite complex and very interesting. So glad you had a great trip to Calgary for the holiday and so glad you both made it back safely. I too love the Highland Cows and have seen them in travel pictures and I have been to the Highlands in Scotland and I think I have seen them in person. They considered beef cows but I could not eat them because they were so beautiful. My brother and sister-in-law have been to the Tyrrell Museum in the Calgary area too. I don't have a passport anymore but my brother and his wife still carry a passport only so they can travel in Canada as my sister-in-law does not like airplane rides. Thanks again for a great video! 😀😀😀🙏🙏❤

That is quite a mill. I did a video last year on our local mill and they only do a fraction of what that mill does. They also have different equipment. Thanks for sharing. Awww I love the picture. Hyland cows are so beautiful/cute.

Thank you so much for sharing your trip and the tour of the mill. Such a treasure for the community to have the mill working and making beautiful items from wool. It is a shame wool isn't used more wildly as it is such a renewable product. Maybe one day wool will regain the popularity it deserves. Happy New Year! I hope 2025 for you is filled with good health, happiness and prosperity! Stay safe!🙏❤🇺🇸

That mill looks so interesting. You must have had a lot of fun there…and Mark you have a wonderful tone to your voice and should always do the narration no matter what the subject. Something tells me a Highland cow is in your future and that would be one lucky (beautiful) cow. Happy New Year and I look forward to many more videos. FYI it was only in the 60’s here yesterday (Tampa Bay, Florida, USA) I was thinking I needed a wool sweater.

Thanks! We had a great time. We do agree on the Highland Cow, and maybe a sweater.

Happy New Year! It was so cool to see the mill. I've never seen one in real life, so a little guided tour was fascinating! And I love that Highland Cow photo! Tara, can you tell me please about that barrel contraption in the entryway? My guess is it's a take on an old-time washing machine, my daughter guessed maybe an oversized butter churn? What is that thing, and what do you use it for now, if it's more than just a decoration? Thanks in advance! Hugs, always.

Lovely video, but we didn't find out if the mill owners took your wool and alpace fleece to transform it, did they ?

Yes they sure did, we will get back in 6-8 months

You did an awesome voice over on the mill! I shared your video here as Sifton is like 10 mins north of Dauphin!! Very interesting and informative!! Thank you! So is all your wool being spun for you or made into fabric and clothing there? The bed portion looked soo soft and fluffy!
@The10AcreWoods18 күн бұрын
Yes they took our wool to be turned into yarn for future projects, we will get back in 6-8months
