CALI ROSE PLAYS "OMOIDE" (THE THEME FROM THE T.V. SERIES MIDNIGHT DINER) ON UKULELE

Cali Rose plays her own instrumental arrangement of "Omoide," the gorgeous theme from the Japanese series "Midnight Diner," presently showing on Netflix. The melody is based on an 18th century Irish ballad called "A Pretty Girl Milking Her Cow." Cali learned this song by ear and there is no tablature. She plays it in the key of F.

Such a beautiful arrangement. I love the freedom and clarity of your picking style. I especially liked the parts where you picked faster, it made me think of dancing lightning bugs or dragonflies, but then came back to rest like the more expected guitar melody from the show. I really admire your ability.

I figure these arrangements out by ear based on the chord forms and melody. Try it out yourself. I’m playing this in the key of F with Dm, C, Bb and Bbmaj chords. Sorry but no tablature.

I came up with the arrangement by ear and don’t have it in tablature. But I can tell you that I play it in the key of F (Dm) because it lays so well on the uke.
