Since Day 1, I’ve loved the Caliban. Hell, from the introductory video, I knew I had to have the Caliban. And luckily, I think it was the first or second tank I got from the Christmas boxes. Either that or the M-IV-Y. Caliban Clutch!

I think the 3rd person view is only good when enemy is over a ridge, for all other shots especially close/midrange sniper view is very important, aiming to overmatch engine decks etc unfortunately the Ace xp and marks seem to be dominated by players using the gold ammo so it is very uncompetitive for player like me who doesnt use food and only HE, but still it is in some small inferior way similar to KV2 enjoyment and because of that I play it a lot. I found turbo is essential as it is extremely powerful when ambushing and driving up to a tanks side/back and doing 1700 in 2.5 seconds , everyone who is doing that is going "hehehehe" like a little goblin

Idk if skill will read this but, since the other day skill failed to hit a Lynx(twice), and since we're talking about shooting in 3rd person, this also works very well when shooting at clown cars 😁

I love this tank, it's like the KV-2, except you trade "Hand of Stalin" for armour. KV-2 should be aimed and fired via 3rd person as well, nice slow shell, good arc. Only KV-2 is more accurate with no aiming, this tank you _have to_ aim or it goes into a different postcode

QUESTION: For some reason I can't really aim in the third person view. The retical usually is jumping/moving like a dancer. Does anyone have the same issues? I think it appears especially when aiming over ridges.

Your mouse might be defective or mouse sensitivity is too high

Over ridge the reticle is trying to "compensate" the shell drop for distance... But since you're aiming for something close (hill) and something distant (background) the reticle is jumping from one to another

It's fun, yes, but objectively it's not a tank you can expect consistent performance from. In a game carrying situation, the gun handling, long reload, lack of (reliable) armor and poor mobility hamper it significantly. A while back, I won a 1v1 against this tank in a Super Hellcat because my opponent managed to miss two shots at under 100 metres due to the derpy gun handling, and even the DPM of that tank allowed me to kill him from ~800 hp with ease.

A Caliban replay with the reloads cut out? If you're shooting on reload, that's... what, 150 seconds from a game that runs the whole fifteen minutes? At that point, hell, it's more of a montage than a replay. XD You could travel half a kilometer in the tank in that time.

With some low shell velocity guns you can lob shells over terrain humps without exposing yourself by aiming in 3rd person. (Edit; Skill explains it at the 5:10 mark)
