Hey Skill, i recommend you use Turbo with field mod, it helps you close in to the enemy side or back instead of aiming then you can unload double shot and run away

I was using aiming unit, stabs, irm, like you said, tried to max out gun, but then tried using turbo instead of irm and turbo is actually better, at least for me, this tank is not about gun, you just have to play very close range, do a lot of flanking, and turbo helps to do that the best

This tank NEEDS a turbo. It goes from being one of the slowest tier 8 heavies to one of the quickest due to the good power to weight. Makes setting up shots so much easier and the tank so much more flexible. Much more of a impact that vents has. Can flex around like a fat borat for side shots. Just gota not shoot 2nd shot unless its a sure thing and you have the ability to fall back. At end game just taking a hit and using its good power to weight with 38km top speed to get behind tanks to hit them for 1700 is just dumb.

​@@Watykaniak +5km actually with field mods. 33km is slower than most heavies, 38km along with the power to weight to not lose speed up hill means you get to position faster than most of them and can outmaneuver most of them mid and late game. Watch how most streamers play it. Its a opportunistic ambusher / support. Mobility is key. Especially with such a long downtime.

Vertstabs + aiming device + turbo is the way to go on this. Also the difference in he ability to get around enemies to their sides / rears in end game is massive. If your sniping in this tank then your doing it wrong.

Let's look at it this way: the turbo is a 12% increase to top speed, a 17% increase to reverse speed, it takes power to weight to nearly 20 and it also increases traverse speed. The question is whether all of this is worth sacrificing one of the other must have pieces of equipment?

I fell in love with this tank from the first moment. The only sad thig is the last HE rework.. without that it could be more fun. I played already like 100 games with Caliban with avg of 2100..which is not very good but that gun is just MEME by it self. I never viped out more mole's than woth this tank.... even with fully aimed gun you have no guarance that shell will go in the circle

I think the 180 HE pen has more than made up for the HE "rebalance". However, it doesn't affect hull down monsters which in Wargaming's infinite wisdom is exactly what they were aiming for (pun intended). I just wished they'd had Caliban RNG.

You can actually climb on the pile of rubble but from the other side, it's extremely easy and you need to get on the flat bit right on top of the pile. You can shoot down into the market and even into those in cover behind the building, took that position in a Kran once and it is terrifying, they really should fix that, not gonna lie. And yeah, Caliban is FUN when it works :)) Thanks for the games!

I think he was just a bit quick to judge in his first video. He got really really bad maps for this tank and wasn't quite playing with it correctly then. This tanks existence survives on the dopamine rush from double pens and he just wasn't getting anything good in those first few matches.

I think you are correct about this tank. Most games with this one I am pulling out my hair but every once in a while I have tears in my eyes from laughing so much from hitting everything. The Caliban is a mindchanger, I came here just for your opinion on the tank and out of curiosity. Post my first two games in this vehicle I didn't understand how to play it but now I am 60 matches in and I love this tank, super fun super troll. Btw I prefer tier 9 matches and not tier 6 matches in this tank, you can penetrate most vehicles in the side or front even at tier 9 and it's more satisfying to clip Conway for 1500 or Obj 257 than to shoot at tier 6s. Another point I noticed high tiers want to rush you, when you play in a platoon this allows one person to get around the back and for example penetrate an IS-4 in the back twice and win the 2 on 1 duel.

They lowered the alpha damage of HE shells on Type 4/5 cause people were crying they got one-shot and they release a tank that can do even more damage albeit in 3.75s and they slapped it on a tank that can play against tier VI tanks.

One tip: you ABSOLUTELY need intuition in this tank. With it, you can change your entire clip in ~29 seconds, which can be essential, as although I think AP is the better overall ammo choice, sometimes the HE is essential.

What is annoying is both 180 pen on he and 292 on ap. Its a heavy tank most encounters are close range so dispersion doesn't even matter. You pull out take shots and go behind cover, dpm is irrelevant 122tm shows that. Alpha is way more important. the problem with that high of HE is it can pen lower plates of heavys.

Allways a pleasure to see you vids, despite you can win the fIrst game, i think this tank comes with 25 Shells, it should give us "the tip" on how to use the Caliban: Hyper-wise with the Shells gestion, focusing on keeping one shell in the amno bay (if possible): Your test to hit the arty with the "HE shell drop tech" with your 2 Shells makes you loose the game: because just after, even if you low roll against the T 56 with your first shell, you had the second shell to finish him instead of going back and loosing 442 hp (from the T56), and then loosing 531 hp from the Amx 13 57, to be @83 HP and "one-shotable" by him instead of having 1056 HP.

This was the tank that I got in my Loot Boxes and I was honestly pretty happy. Not my the best in my opinion, but not the worst either. Its a bit slow, but not worth a turbo. Its a meme tank that is fun to play, and I understand that I'm not carrying in. Nonetheless its hilarious to play when it goes right, and I don't get upset when it goes poorly. I don't typically go fight the heavies in it, especially not Tier X.

I like it. Yeah its derpy and trollish, but after "loosing" my kv2 after they nerfed the living hell out of HE, this thing is my new kv2. If you meet heavy tanks with lots of armour u simply load gold and u have good pen and STILL a respectable damage. You just need to have mapawareness (when to have one or the other loaded and where to go to, so you dont sit too far away and shoot)

I like this tank in tier 10 too. The ap pen more than enough. I focus on the better tier 10 tanks and give them around 1300hp- without problem. If we think about it the is7 and the kranvagon have nearly the same pen with gold. If the enemy make a mistake you peak out and give him 2 presents. You go back and reload and next time give him 2 more presents and you are around 2600dmg. I did it yesterday with a unicum chiftain and he went back to the garage. This tank can be op.

If i go to the heavy front i use only 1 shoot and not the second one. peak when they have shot. And i have minimised the rectangle as much as it's possible. I do not snipe from far a way. It's a waste of time.

If you load gold ammo for this Skoda on first game you should be able to win the battle. This tank will be awesome if WG didn't nerf HE. So AP is the way to go for this tank if you are VS tier 8 heavy tanks

Would you consider chaning the Tornvagn rating aswell? I've having a good time with it, I run it with Rammer + Turbo + Vstabs / irm and It's not nearly as bad as everyone says, there's way slower tanks that are rated good, like the Lowe and the accuracy is not that terrible if you are upclose and even if you miss, you won't get penned either. I'm not saying it should be epic, but I think it is NOT a bad tank. I'd put it on playable at the very least, if not good.

Playable You say... Yeah... I spent 2 minutes to check out how it looked in past years... 2018: Type 59, Lorraine 40t, T26E5, Skorpion G. 2019: E-25. IS-3A, Skorpion G, Defender. 2020: E-75TS, Object 703 II, Progetto 46, SU-130PM. 2021: Bisonte C45, Bourrasque, GSOR 1008, ISU-152K. I dislike Skorpion, Defender is pile of garbage for me, but thousands of people waited for years to get them, me included. There is a lot of stars shining in this company and this year if you have Skoda already, whole event is garbage... Maybe If I will finally buy boxes and get any of them, I change my mind like you Skill, but you get the point, even if Defender is crap, it's still a legend that older players always remember, same as Skorp, not even talking about Borat or Progetto. Where Taliban is going to sit in 3 months? In deepest garage corner eating dust...

Skill, you do not understand this tank! It is not toxic... If you empty the clip and then go to garage, you are actually ...increasing DPM of the tank! Because it take less time to start a new game then to reload Caliban for more than 1 minute! So remeber how you must play: BAM- BAM -> garage! BAM-BAM -> garage! :)
