Calibrate Honda DCT motorbikes.

⦁ Warm up the bike. Make sure its hot to touch!
⦁ Put the bike in Netural (N) and turn off the bike.
⦁ With the igniton off, press and hold the D button.
⦁ Whilst holding down the D button, turn ON the key, but do not start the engine.
⦁ Wait for the orange check engine light to go off the dash board and once the orange light has gone off, let go of the D button. (ABS light could still be on and thats ok)
⦁ Now press: D D N D N
⦁ D S should appear on your dashboard.
⦁ Start the bike but do not rev it.
⦁ After 3-5 minutes your bike will calibrate. Sometimes this could take couple of seconds.
⦁ Enjoy the new ride!

My local Honda Dealer says to NOT do it...The only time it should be done is if the DCT controller is replaced or Clutch plates are replaced...Never do it otherwise . The repair Manual also says the same thing..

I tried this on a 2019 NC750X and seems to have made a good difference. Just make sure to keep the red engine switch on. I initially forgot to put the red switch on, and the engine light will not turn off.

For the latest version of NC, you need to hold the throttle 100% open while keeping D pressed at the beginning of the procedure.

Why do I need to reset the dct engine is it for better mileage?

Just like any other piece of machine. It needs calibration to work efficiently, essentially improving fuel mileage.

Tried this on my NT1100. Unfortunately, did not work and the display (M, D, S1, S2, S3) disappeared 🙁🙁 I now have to guess what mode I am in. Any ideas ??

Hi, resetting your ecu should do the trick. Try disconnectibg the battery and reconnect.

You won't need to, it's just if you want to calibrate your engine after some use.

It's not necessary. But, I would advise you to reset your DCT every couple thousand miles. This simply calibrates your gearbox so it's much better and responsive.

DOOOOOOOONT DO IT SO OFTEN, every time you do it, bike needs to leard how you ride, bike learns how much throttle you give it and if your on sport mode, it learns your type of shifting. no need to keep updating it, maybe every 5 to 8k should be good.......................
