I got the RTF Geprc Tiny Go and this is a "Go To" video! My lil guy in auto level would drift forward and a touch to the left. After using your video, it is damn near perfect, many thanks. I come from "collective pitch" helicopters. Not very good at it, crashed many times. Many tail-booms, skids, blades and such, I have become very good with repair and mechanical setup. Out of the 21 helicopters, more than half can hover like GPS and the rest do need a tiny inputs. All of which is done in agility mode or as it is referring to in the quad world "ACRO".... Calibration and trimming in the quad world is easy with the stick method. Consider me a fan, thanks again.

Dayum Joshua, being new to fpv, but not new to drones, I got a TinyGo and thought I'd never be able to fly it properly because of the constant in-flight adjustments. I can't believe this method actually worked for that, even with the proprietary transmitter. Now I have a new love for the little guy. Just because of this you just got yourself a new Patreon. Thanks and keep up the awesome informative videos.

Thank you SO MUCH for this video! Yesterday on my first time ever flying a quad I panicked and the quad got stuck in a tree about 15-20 meters above ground. Of course I had disarmed it and now it couldn’t arm because it was stuck in 90degrees angle between some branches and the tree was to big to shake it down. LUCKILY my friend had seen this video and remembered your tip on how to recalibrate it with the stick command so it again could arm and with a bit of twisting and props chipping away it came down!! Lucky ending!! Many thanx from Sweden!

An oldie but a goodie. I didn't know about this but buying the BetaFPV LiteRadio 2SE ELRS version. It doesn't have trim buttons like every other radio I've ever had. That forced me to find this, which is really the "right" way to trim a quad. Futher the LiteRadio doesn't have model memories, which is fine because I have all my Whoops use the same settings... except for trim, which again this technique solves. Thank you!

I really don't want to be one of those guys but if I may... Other things I would check when a quad is drifting before I trim would be bent props, trim settings on the radio, and sticks centered (1500) in BF. Heck, even a battery on crooked or not "evenly placed" can cause drift or what appears to be drift, especially on a micro. This stuff may or may not be present but if it is, all the trimming in the world will be for nothing if you don't fix them first. Thanks for another fine video Mr. Bardwell.

Having followed the instructions for setting up,binding, upgrading betaflight and flashing my Mobula 7 I was glad to see this video on how to calibrate. My mobula 7, on attempting to take off it just tilts to the left (using camera as front) I adjusted the trim but was interippted somewhat by three screws falling out of the rear left motor and the motor dropped out of the frame !!!! This certaily has been a learning experience. ;-)

That tip at the end is super useful deserves more visibility. Especially since it doesn’t really matter to the whoop market and most of the video was for them :) It’s great because you still have the safety of the small angle setting , but can get it out of trees or use it on a racing starting stand

Man you have been a key resource as i get into this hobby with my self built mini quad. I use a 3d printed frame thats held with zipties that obstruct the usb. It also drifts backwards when i hover. I manage to fly fine but was eventually going to tinker with the trim via the configurator. But that would mean constantly wasting zipties as i tweak, test, tweak, test. I had NO idea about the stick commands. This video just popped up in my reccomended feed and will save me from so much hassle. Thank you for making this and every video. My next quad is actually going to be based on your recent build and i will absolutely use each and every affiliate link.

Joshua - I'm one of those acro-only guys, even with my Tiny Whoop build that I race regularly with our local MultiGP Chapter - FLX FPV. I was taken aback in the interview with JP with the statement that no major or minor whoop races are being won by pilots flying acro. Our chapter is half-way through it's second season and every tiny whoop race has been won by a pilot flying acro. We've usually got 12-16 pilots on hand for each race, and there is a variety of acro and angle modes, but the fast guys all fly acro and seem to have the best flow. I'd be very interested to see you spend a little time really dialing in the acro-bee to fly well in acro mode, as well as angle mode, and then dig a little deeper into the position that you have to fly angle to be fast. And if you ever get up into central NY, make sure you come do some whoop racing with us!

Thank you very much for the video. It totally explained what I was experiencing (drifting forward) because the quad was connected to the computer (micro-usb connection port on bottom of quad) which caused tilt during calibration. It is nice to know I can calibrate and trim without having to connect to computer alleviating what caused the drifting issue. Thank you again. G3D bless you!

Another great tutorial that helped me achieve exactly what I was looking for. My Protek35 would start tilting towards right and forward even before it took off and even in the angle mode. This helped me to calibrate and trim it so well that now when I start applying the throttle there is no initial drift even before the takeoff. And even after the takeoff the quad drifts very little.

Super helpful! I kinda stopped flying angle on my whoops because calibrating within BF is tricky (really hard to get it right) and for some reason I just had a brain fade on stick commands. I also really like the tip on the small angle. I set to 180 for this very purpose but don't really like it - just one less safety measure disabled. Definitely will consider switching in favor of your method.... however turtle mode has definitely made this easier (although not all my quads esp the 5" ones are on DSHOT ... so definitely helpful!).

I have been watching drone videos for about a year and refuse to buy 1 to try. I also preferred videos from other pilots, mainly because it is nice to watch their amazing flying skills. That is until I bought my Emax Tinyhawk 2. The 8:37 section on adjusting the accelerometer trim is something I struggled for a long time. I don't know where to find such instructions and information. I don't even know what it is called. I know my tinyhawk needs some calibration. I was lucky to have chance upon this video. Thank you so much! Just a suggestion, perhaps a series of videos on Tinyhawk for dummies that features step by step guide would be nice! I'm sure there are still many things I will be struggling with, in time to come, and have no idea where to find the information. I'm also guessing there will be beginners like me who don't have a community to fall upon and rely on youtube videos for help. :)
