I just pick up a 22 pistol and carbine. Thanks for the vid. One of the mags was jammed up. I had to get inside to figure it out

Glad it helped. Unfortunately I cant use mine because the calicos are prohibited here so I have a parts kit with no receiver.

Stray03 Fixed the mag. The previous owner somehow popped the end of the tension spring out of the hole in the crank and it wouldn't tighten up. Your Calico is prohibited? Whereabouts are you from?
@Stray036 жыл бұрын
Canada. They made a list of scary looking guns back in the 90s and the calico made the list. Idiot politicians doing idiot things.

Thanks for the video. I thought it was an excellent video and your instructions were clear. It helped me a lot.

No problem glad it helped. Thanks for watching.

I watched the disassembly and figured I could put it back together myself, no problem. Got to putting the metal brackets on. The one near the feed lips slid on great, so I went to do the top one...bad idea. I cut the shit out of myself. XD Came back to watch how you did it and it just snaps on...go figure. I get the dumbass of the day award.

Yeah they are odd mags with knives built in lol. Doesnt take much to slip and slice yourself open.

Am I the only person who got one defective from the factory? Mag body is so undersized the spiral can't move. The act of trying to load it deformed the spiral with very deep grooves. Even if I open up the inside of the mag body with a dremel, I'm still not sure the spiral won't snag from the grooves, now.

Will the company replace it?

Anyone know the size of the circlip that goes on the clutch button? Not the round crank one(that's larger). Mine's loose & needs replacement. The button popped out!

What's the deal with these mags and the rear sights? Most models I see have them gone, and sometimes they're on. The ones direct from Calico don't even appear to have them.
@Stray032 жыл бұрын
I think the 9mm had them on the mag and the .22 had it built into the gun but don't quote me on that as I only have a parts kit.
@parissmith57272 жыл бұрын
@@Stray03 I got the .22 and all I have is a front post. Weird. Also the model I picked up from the pawn shop today has a mag that doesn't click when I press to relieve spring tension. I pull the thing apart per your vid and the mag spring is twisted, kinked, knotted and squashed down. AND someone painted the whole mag red and someone later tried to un-bubba it.
@Stray032 жыл бұрын
I thought infront of the mag (where it locks in) was the rear sight for the .22 as mine is supposed to have. Maybe it depends on the year of manufacture?
@parissmith57272 жыл бұрын
@@Stray03 Could be. I think mine is a late '80s early '90s model. Would have to send Calico my S/N. Have you ever bought anything from them direct on their site?

No the guns are prohibited where I am from unfortunately

I just got one of these and I think my mag is bad. The wheel spins back when I turn it.

Iirc the company is still around. They may be able to help you.
@Gregiorp Жыл бұрын
@@Stray03 Yeah I've been looking on their site. I've taken it apart but everything seems fine. I suspect something in the gear assembly. The only other thing is the large spring near the follower seems about 1/2 in shorter than yours and gives no resistance on reassembly.
@Stray03 Жыл бұрын
Problem with the internet is I can't have the part in my Hands to see it for myself. Your followers are still in the mag right, not missing?
@Gregiorp Жыл бұрын
@@Stray03 Yup its there. I can load it but there is no tension whatsoever. If I turn the wheel it spins loose as soon as I Iet go.
@Gregiorp Жыл бұрын
@@Stray03 Update. I fully loaded it and cranked the knob 15 times like the manual says. The knob still spins back but it does hold tension.

Hey Dude you should do a Mag loading Video. Let me know if you do one. N.
@Stray0310 жыл бұрын
Mag loading video would be 8 minutes of me pushing .22 into a hole, Maybe I'll make a short partial loading video with the clear mag just to show how the .22s are going in.
@NicholasAarons10 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats what I was thinking with the clear mag it looks so awesome. You could even do a video of the clear mag with it loaded and just show how the helical shape and how they would feed in to the rifle. Just a thought. :D Hope this helps Dude.
