maybe something wrong with firing pin - like dirt from the running got into the pin mechanism so it couldn't strike with enough force to detonate a cartridge. Is it just a recurring FTE wherein the new round cannot chamber due to a case in the way? Since I assume that the chamber isn't fluted, and you're only seeing this issue once the gun has a few hundred rounds (i.e. some gunk in the chamber), this might just be a demonstration of why H&K elected to flute the MP5's chamber. I am also curious how the extractor and its srping are doing.

The first round that didn't fire, was a live round. If you look at the footage around 2:11 and check it frame by frame, you will see a cartridge being ejected after the last trigger pull. Its kinda hard to see as it is behind the carrying strap and its only there for 1 frame, but it is there. So the "click" at 2:28 is either a dead round, of there is a problem with the striker setup.

Feeding issues could be due to the ammo youre using. I had this with the g36 that rounds didnt chamber or properly eject when using inferior ammunition in training. This was due to old or simply cheap rounds not "producing" enough "recoil" (pressure, force what ever you want to call it) to properly eject the used cartridge and grab plus insert a new one into the chamber. Maybe try some more powerful ammo? That would be my best guess.

100 rounds of 9mm Parabellum on tap. I can see the gun being a somewhat viable choice for home defence if only for that massive mag capacity in a small package. Now yes, the jamming is a pain to deal with but I don't think any home intruder would complain once a bunch of 9mm starts flying.
@jubuttib4 жыл бұрын
The problem being I don't think you should store it fully cranked for long periods of time, and accurately cranking it in a home defence situation might be difficult
@enricopaolocoronado25114 жыл бұрын
@@jubuttib True, hence why I said "somewhat viable". I'm sure many well versed gun owners can list far better and practical options of home defence like an Ithaca 37 or something else.

A friend of mine and I had these. When we took ours out for the first time, another friend of ours came along. Our guns went full auto in front of our friend who happened to be a Special Agent with ATF. He suggested we get that issue fixed. We did. Overall, a nice (unreliable) concept, way ahead of its time.

Here I am yelling at my screen: "There was a round in the chamber, you just ejected it! Should've picked it up and inspected it". Oh well, I guess even Gun-Jesus isn't truly infallible... ;) I wonder: Is it realistic to assume that you had more than one dud round/defective primer in a 100 round mag?
@Ugly_German_Truths4 жыл бұрын
Depends where he got his ammo from. If he gets them from the candy story where you use that shovel thing in the big glasses ... why not? The assortment should be truly random there. If he opens a fresh box or five, it should be unlikely to happen. But then, does he even say what kind of ammo it was? If it's another miracle stash of surplus "whoknowswhere from" like the many Ethiopian Mausers he presented the last few weeks or his recent big box of turkish cartridges it could simply be old and/or crappy ammo.

This feels like the Zapruder film, we're analyzing it frame by frame to come up with an explanation that makes sense. 2:11 slowing it down to quarter speed I didn't see an ejection, granted that might be because it was too fast to appear on a frame, that might have been what was ejected at 2:53.
