She brought quite the crutch today! Gotta get rid of that pinecone. Can't be very comfortable on those sticks: needs more fluff! There was a great full frontal view of her in this clip. What a noble queen!

I was thinking the same thing about the dreaded pinecone! The sticky sap is an issue too. lol. I wonder if they can just roll it out of the nest? Pick it up with their feet and just drop it?

That’s Jackie’s pinecone. It’s one of the very 1st things she brought to the nest. Last year I think it was Shadow who brought the pinecone in. 😂 Too funny. She must have been flying in hard. We can hear her breathing and panting 😊

After watching all these years, I truly believe the pine cone is used as a sit-in for the eaglette so they can use it to work around while building the nest. Just an observation…
