Thank you Cali Condor, and Lady Hawk for sharing this amazing rescue of the sweet Two Harbors chick. It's been a nail biter! God bless Dr. Sharpe and his team for coming to the rescue. There have been a lot of questions from viewers regarding Spirit on Jackie and Shadow's nest if he/she fell off, and if there would be a rescue. I never saw a definitive answer, which I understand as it's based on a lot of contingencies, but I think this rescue may answer the worries of all of our Big Bear eagle nest viewers if dear Spirit fell off. Our dear team is on top of everything where possible. Also, he/she is pretty strong now and J&S could surely support the eaglet no matter where he/she may land. Bless all of our eagle families out there.🥰

Why don't they put a nest platform up there? That has wooden rails at least 2inches on each side...? That's what we've done here in Florida for Osprey nests to deter them from building atop of light poles.
@CaliCondor2 жыл бұрын
These decisions are taken on a case by case basis and generally depend on local circumstances. This pair has used several nesting sites over the years (this is their 20th season together). Their alternative nesting site has underwent some improvements by humans in the past. I am not aware of any alterations to this site besides the sticks Dr. Sharpe and his associates placed in this video.

I don't know if that was mom or dad, but that was incredibly negligent. I guess if they knock a baby from the nest, they make no effort to get it back. "Where's the baby?" "Oh, I knocked her out of the nest this morning." "Oh? Well okay then." Thank you to Dr Sharpe and staff for caring.
