Caliente by Belle Tress in Butterbeer Blonde: Compare to Honey w/Chai Latte

This style looks great on you. The color is pretty but I think all colors benefit from a little warm and a little cool. It gives them dimension and balance and brings the colors alive against one another. But for very cool lovers this would probably be paradise. It's done so well!

It's a lovely color, mostly cool with a little bit of warmth . I agree that a mix of warm and cool is best. I prefer it to veer more to cool than warm myself, usually. Belle Tress has really hit it out of the park in the last year with colors.

I totally agree with you about editors pack and Caliente! Editors pictures looks like a mushroom on my head but I love the look of it in general. Caliente is such a great style and looks good on everybody including you!

I have been thinking of Caliente. I am not a blonde but maybe someday I have light Carmel brown hair and usually do honey toast or Bernstein rooted so I will have to figure what color in Belle Tress. You might like Light Bernstein Rooted or just the Bernstein, or the new Brown Sugar Sweet Cream! I'm getting a Caliente in that shade within, hopefully, the next week or so and if it's too brunette for me, I probably won't keep it after my review, so you may want to stay tuned for that review, just to see if that might suit you. Those are on backorder at the moment so I put in my order a few weeks ago and the retailer was supposed to get them in at the end of last week, then ship them out. I'm glad to be back and interact with my wig sisters again! 🥰

They definitely upgraded the color Butterbeer Blonde in general and took away that burgundy root and that brassy area between the root and the blonde. It also looks like they’ve improved upon the color application on Caliente because I’ve watched some other videos and seen some other women wearing this and it did not have the blonde around the hairline like yours does and that’s a really great feature for me. I like when the blonde is at the hairline like Raquel Welch wigs.

Absolutely, I agree! I prefer this application of the color to others I've had in the past on different styles. I couldn't wear even comfortably wear those.

That's hard to say as it can vary a little from unit to unit on the same style, however, it seems that the original one I had showed more of the honey blonde tones in it along with the lighter ash, though it was still definitely in the ash category.

You've convinced me I'm going back to those subtle red framed glasses next time I buy! I chose black last time as it was the fashion but that red shade looks good on us blondie-greys doesn't it? I've just bought Belle Tress in Coconut Silver Blonde (which is quite similar to JR Martini just a little lighter) and Cream Soda Blonde which I believe is supposed to be the Butterbeer minus the rooting but looks to me to be a warmer shade than the Butterbeer Blonde you're wearing. Definitely no apperance of grey in it.

Hi, Jayandess. I think that the root on the BBB shows through the underlayer of the entire wig so removing that root from the Cream Soda Blonde makes it brighter, overall. I don't know that it is necessarily warmer, but it would appear brighter. It should still read ashy, though not as cool as Coconut Silver, from what I've seen on camera in multiple reviews, though I haven't yet had either in my hands. Yes on the glasses! These I'm wearing are purple, but I find I like the burgundy-red ones I have and will add some pink ones to the next order. I have no black ones, but I do have some dark blues.

I think you might be able to, but you'd have to be sure it had the extended nape plus you'd have to cinch those adjusters all the way in and tack them there, Rachel. I am child size like you, other than my 22" circumference, but I can wear these as long as there is that nape to hold it down in the back and the adjusters are tight enough.

You know, Mary, I've never had that shade in my hands so I'd hesitate to comment on it. It has even lighter rooting than this color, something like a 14, but again, I don't want to tell you wrong. Great review! I just received Amaretto in Champagne with Apple Pie and the roots are so red, including all along the lace front. But other than the roots, I love the color. It seems the roots on this Butterbeer Blonde wig are actually lighter like you said which I would prefer. I also like that the roots along the lace front are so much lighter. Do you have any suggestions on where we might order the newly updated Butterbeer Blonde? I have a feeling it's a gamble as to whether you're going to get the old version or the newer one!

As far as I know, Wendy, it's just a crapshoot. If you get older stock, you'll most likely get the more reddish warm toned rooting and there is no way to know what they'll send you.

Agree....That one is beautifully colored. But I'm stumped.....I just talked with Wigs.com rep to try to order same but she said Belle Tress had NOT updated anything on colors and felt whatever you got was just an outcome of their inconsistency in colors and I may not get the same. Maybe she was just uninformed. Have you seen these changes on any of Butterbeer recently?

This current piece I have in Butterbeer Blonde is very, very different from my first Butterbeer Blonde, as you can see in the photo at the top right I added at one place in the video of that first piece compared to this one I am reviewing. That, plus at least two other people, one a reviewer and one a retailer, have said that that BT has improved this color. That would be extreme inconsistency if what the other rep said is true. Of course, wig shades can be inconsistent, but usually in the most minor way. I know that Jon Renau has improved the way they do the rooting on some colors because I've had them at different times. If the company has been listening to the way women rave about how wonderfully Gabor and Raquel Welch do the highlighting around the face on the rooted colors, it would make sense that Belle Tress would up their game to compete, but that is the extent of what I know for sure and what I think happened. No one can guarantee what you will receive, not to a high degree of certainty, of course.

We all like different things-there's a wig and color for all of us! Generally, I like a combination of cool and warm. It's so easy to find warm blondes, but the cool ones or the combination of those tones is much more difficult, or it is for me on the styles I would wear.

No, Debra, Butterbeer Blonde is not at all gray. It is sandy blonde and ash blonde, doesn't read gray or silver. Now, Roca Margarita Blonde will read, in certain lights, grayish-silver because it actually does contain silver blonde along with the ash. Could be the monitor skewing the color. Color is difficult because of lighting (I use only natural outdoor light) and monitors and how colors come across. Wig colors are always a challenge!
