After getting up the next morning on the Bradshaw Trail I finished it up by 7:30 am and crossed the Colorado River into Arizona. In Wickenburg I gassed up, picked up some provisions and headed into the Bradshaw Mountains. I knew I might need to spend at least one night up there and wanted to be ready.
By nightfall I had driven for a solid 12 hours - 9 of which were on jeep trails. Although my phone registered 18,000 steps that day, about 17,000 were only from the jiggling while it hung from my windshield mount. Even so, I slept well that night.
Next morning I found Bradshaw City (nothing there), visited a unique residential area called Crown King, then set off on a long trip to Prescott on more jeep trails. Unfortunately about an hour in I met a piece of trail that I just couldn’t attempt - a massive field of bed rock interspersed with massive gaps. To add to the peril, the approach was a mud patch making my tires slippery. No Thanks..!! Backed up and turned around for a more civilized exit from the Bradshaw Mountains.
Made it to Prescott in one piece and kept going to Lake Havasu City for my last campsite before arriving at my sister, Judi’s place in Indio, CA.
Tomorrow is a quick trip to Joshua Tree National Park then on towards the Bay Area for my other work conference. Till then…….
