California Coast Road Trip / Pacific Coast Highway / Fort Bragg to San Francisco

CALIFORNIA COAST ROAD TRIP / PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY / FORT BRAGG TO SAN FRANCISCO - I did some Pacific Coast highway camping just north of Fort Bragg California off of the California Highway 1. The Pacific Ocean crashed against the rocks below. If you’re taking a California Coast road trip then I highly suggest traveling along the Pacific Coast Highway (also called the PCH) on Highway One and stopping at Glass Beach, Mendocino, and Point Arena lighthouse.
I’ve been on the Pacific Coast Highway drive before, but never as an RV road trip where now I get to explore more as I RV California coast and stop and enjoy more of the Pacific coast and the California Coastal highway. A Pacific Coast Highway road trip is a must see on the California coast.

I started watching your seasons over. I'm currently watching season 2 again. That Lost Coast drive was crazy. The ocean is my happy place too. That drive is so beautiful! Could the scenery get any more beautiful?! The solid band of clouds next to the road was incredible. Loved the cool towns and those restaurants. The Golden Gate Bridge at the end was perfect! Safe travels, Amber!

Your videos are such high quality with great clarity, brightness, detail even with distance . The drive with you was stunningly beautiful. Were you using the Panasonic Lumix with a Leica lens? It’s not illegal and I talked to a sheriff who said 10 days is how long you can stay.

Can you actually run your a/c off just the solar/batteries, or do you have to run the van motor?

I was just reading on the FB group that california campgrounds near the water wouldn't accept Aktiv's because they didn't allow cassette toilets. Have you seen that on you trip down the coast?

I haven't heard of that, but I don't really stay in campgrounds. Why would they not take cassette toilets? It's smaller than a black tank and serves the same purpose. What kind of campgrounds?

Story Chasing I read it on an Oct 24th post about places to dump the cassette and Ian Levinson said the rangers wouldn’t let you stay at some west coast water campgrounds. They didn’t recognize a cassette as meeting the self contained rule. Hopefully just a badly informed ranger...I remember “were the Russo’s” parking on a coastal camping spot in Ca. Also read you’re not suppose to dump in pit toilets and now some rest areas are not allowing it.

Stephen Stringer I'm not sure if Ian had a rogue Ranger or something, but the van is completely self contained so I don't know why somebody wouldn't let him park there. As for pit toilets, I haven't seen anything saying you can't as of yet. It's possible for sure, but there are so many places you can dump that it's not an issue.
