Tiffany couldn't be further from a valley girl. You are just saying that because she is blonde. But she is kind, selfless, compassionate person with a passion for surfing and music. She is not remotely motivated by material gain. The rest of your character descriptions fit pretty well though.

The characters had lot of dept. Tony was far from token as he actually persude everything and spoke up for himself. They never talked down to him but jokes with him. Most token black dudes are the butt of jokes and easily need other characters to defend them. Same for Jake, Fonzie rip off but had a lot of heart. Most bad boys in these shows got clout and abuse it.

I understand what this episode tried to do... but it's so cringe by todays standards and not to mention racially and culturally insensitive. I hate how Tony see's slavery as though it was a "career choice" that his ancestors chose- he had no reason what so ever to feel shame- if anything, I wouldn't have wanted to see the white characters feeling shame and compassion for Tony. Lorrena saying "Jake's family also has humble beginnings" as some kind of comfort- ffs that is not the same at all. Then to actually show Tony's ancestor picking cotton... Also Sam with that giant Chinese gong.... so cringe. Also.. yet another episode with no music, songs or mention of band practicing....
