I am so glad I found this video. This is nearly exactly one year after you posted this video and my girlfriend and I will be making almost exactly the same trip from the 18th through the 22. This will be her first trip to experience Fall colors in the US so I hope we are as successful and you guys were. We are also going to Yosemite and Bristlecone. You pointed out many of the places where I am hoping to see fall colors. Thank you so much. I am sure now that we will be successful.

You sure did cover lot of area in search of the fall colors! I noticed you found colors in some places and then didn’t in some. Based on your 2021 experience, if you have to go again and maximize the fall colors would you pick October 12th week or before? I am looking to take my son this year to this beautiful area. We have talked about this area since 2018 and still have not visited. Trying to make sure we will be able to see colors. Aspendale is high on my list. 😊 Thanks for sharing this wonderful video and experience, really helps a lot novice travelers like me. 😊 Good luck to your future travel adventures!

Hello Vikas, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I would definitely try around the same time (Oct 12th), you will definitely see fall colors… but maybe try a week or more earlier for the higher elevations. We only had an hour or so in Aspendell but it was gorgeous walking around, glad you have it high on your list! Good luck, I hope you get up to the eastern sierras this fall, it’s really beautiful.😎

It snowed there in October? I don't think there are many autumn colors, maybe you missed the time? How is it this year, are you still going there to see the autumn colors? I need some information, such as when is the right time, where are the most autumn colors, etc. Thanks!

@minwang8959 - Yes, it snowed the day we drove up which makes it even more beautiful. It can snow anytime of the year in the Eastern Sierras - always be prepared. I don’t want to give you wrong info so I’ll say this: I can’t give you an exact answer because it’s a gamble to see fall colors. Peak fall colors vary from year to year depending on several factors including the weather, elevation, and location. I made this video between the 11th-16th of October 2021. In my video I showed exactly where and when we went, and what we saw. I will say the best autumn colors were near Sabrina Lake and June Lake. To plan for the future, early to mid October may be you best bet for Fall Colors in the Eastern Sierras. Check out the website: californiafallcolor.com - That’s what I used before we drove up as it provides up to date fall color reports.
