We welcome everyone to come to Bakersfield only 1 hour and 45 minutes from Altadena, $300.000 will buy you a nice home, Only 1 hour and 15 minutes from Hollywood BLVD and we have no danger of floods, tsunamis, fires, earthquakes, congested traffic, high winds, high gasoline prices, we have 2 Costco's, 6 super Wal-Mart's, 10 new car dealers, 2 bedroom apartment rentals are average $1.300 a month, and hot days are only 2 months out of the year, and that is just to mention a few positive reasons to live here. I moved here from Santa Monica 30 years ago and I will not go back. Bakersfield is a NO STRESS CITY. And for those that prefer mansions, we also have a one million dollar homes, that are nicer than LA area 5 million dollar homes.

Because the fires are driven by small embers flying in the wind. The embers are most likely to light dry wood - especially the wood along the eaves of a home or get into the attic from vents. It's not walls of flames that destroy most homes, but these embers that get into the eaves, roof or attic and then ignite the house. Frequently there are many trees that don't burn since they are wet enough that the embers don't light them on fire.

If DJI drones can save lives, the U.S. should also set aside grievances and prioritize saving people.
