“Fun” fact: Not only did the Soviet Union not have a lot of freedom on LGBTQIA+, but not a lot of sexual freedom in general. Sex was barely talked about, and was only seen as a reproductive process. Anyone doing it for their own pleasures was looked down upon often by their peers. Decided to separate this paragraph as I’m talking about more sensitive things here. I’m glad you’re acknowledging how homophobic the USSR was. In fact, the country even had a system that lesbians were deemed as criminally insane and would be locked up in mental hospitals, and gay men would often get raped in prison as a way of exerting more power over them. Thank you for showing USSR in the bad light she should’ve always been shown in, because I’m so tired of people glorifying her🙏
