Really fun adventure! Loved the themes between both an introvert and extrovert outcast and their friendship despite their differences. The visual style reminds me a lot of early 2000s Nickelodeon, especially the sharp and jagged designs of characters. I appreciate how much work went into the final compositing. It really brought the visuals together in a way I found very visually pleasing. One thing I did find distracting was the inconsistent lineart between scenes and sometimes between characters in the same scene. But overall, great film!

What struck me about this pilot is how accurately Rob and Clay portray the awkwardness of being a teenager. Swearing only when parents are out of earshot, feeling like you have to have a date even if you don't want one/aren't ready, how that first sip of alcohol tastes so weird... and Clay's social anxiety really resonated with me too, as someone who turned 16 during the pandemic and is working to regain my confidence. Clay's "catching up" to communicate and relate to his peers, while Rob's "catching up" to the idealized picture of a young man growing-up-too-fast. It works really well.

I adore this. Mainly because there's not much of a big premise, and just a slice of every chaotic day life. And like, I don't have to know why Clay and Rob are friends. They have a wonderful dynamic despite their differences, and it's very wholesome to witness. I love Clay's introvertness, and Rob trying to get him out if his shell. It's also wonderful that Rob isn't too pushy, and at the end, he apologises to Clay because he knows Clay didn't want to come. And when Clay said he had a good time overall, it shows they do care for one another.

This is a really impressive pilot, the animation is legitimately better than a lot of what airs on TV, I would say though that I noticed many pacing issues that made a lot of the jokes not quite stick the landing for me, which can be fixed in editing, but overall I would say that this genuinely shows promise and potential
