The reason I subscribed to your channel is because you're not boastful, or show off with eccentricity that 'some' others tend to, and my preteen Molly and I love the friendly way you are, and your pals. We prospect in the US although we're based in the UK, mostly go bushcrafting close to gold bearing old river, so we go crevicing. Our finds have been amazing. ...When Molly found her fist gold nugget she was hooked. I'm mighty proud of her. Many thanks to you ~Wendi

*Extremely light weight It also **Bestfor.Garden** land for finding any things very easily. Walked out my door using this for the first time and within two feet of my stone driveway found 3 items. The complaints i see from others looks to be people who dont read instructions. Very informative directions.*

One of the best vids I have seen on this subject. Especially the locations. I have prospected this area for 12 years but quit 20 years ago as my life changed. Now I have time again to get back into it. Sounds like a metal detector is the way to go. I was doing some sniping but did not find anywhere near the size of gold you guys are. But my largest piece interestingly did come from an area out of Georgetown.

Jerry, Nice to hear you recap your early prospecting career. Also, when you warn people it is HARD WORK!!! This's one of the best videos that I've ever seen pertaining to prospecting, very well put together. The realism is outstanding. I've been looking for mining partners, but to no prevail. My last partner got hooked on some not so nice stuff, so you know how that ended up. People that say that they really want t on learn just have the drive, let alone them asking every 5 seconds of this or that is gold, it gets on a person's nerves if you know what I mean, plus they dont like the hard work. Anyways I'd like to meet up with you guys sometime, it looks like you guys have an awesome time. Take care l, and good job on the video

I loved this video. Most refreshing to date. And you really ave the petfect tone in your voice for story telling. I'm in my late fiftys and I still metal detect and search for crystalls which is one of my many hobbies. Coming across a colonial coin or a silver Spanish coin still gives me a great thrill. My uncle and I were very close growing up and he would take me on all kinds of adventures. We prospected on his claim ( also in California), where I found many pickers and one nugget weighing over an ounce. I sold back when gold prices were at an all time high. The rest I have kept as a piece of my childhood. The largest nugget he had found on that property weighed in at 4 ounces! He never found anything that size again in that area and suspects it may have been a drop by past prospectors, as the area was heavily mined back in the early 1900s. It continued to produce flake and picker size gold during his lifetime which he panned into his mid 80's. We also found a small pocket of crystals on his land when I was 12. That search is something I still do two weeks every year. I travel to Arkansas, Carolina or New York crystal hunting for amethysts and Herkimere diamonds. My uncle once took me to Australia for my 14th birthday to stay with a friend of his who had over 600 acres of land in an area that was known for opals and gold. He and his family worked the different parts of land that produced some of the prettiest fire-opals I ever seen. That trip for 3 weeks was when I caught the bug for metal detecting too. Back then in the mid 70s, metal detectors were much different than today's. This friend had some of the highest quality equipment that was available at that time. My AT MAX is much easier to use. We detected for a week in the hill country of that land and looked for opals the other two weeks. We found both gold and opals on that trip and I still have the neckless my uncle had made out the quarter size piece of fire opal that I had found on that trip. I know and completely understand the thrill of the find you talk about. Theres nothing like it when the last of the sand is washed from your pan and the gold is revealed. We travelled all over the world seeking adventure and my uncle gave me some of best memories of my childhood. I continued to visit and pan with him in California until his death in 2008. I miss him still.
