Hell yeah! I live in Nevada and was planning a trip down the "Lonliest Road in America", Highway 50, when I started looking further North to see if the scenery got greener and noticed a total lack of roads in the North West territory. This helps me know what to expect and how to prepare. Looks like 8A and 34 are some of the darkest areas in America and good for star gazing.

Thanks! I would have loved to continue down 8A but my little Prius wasn't really equipped for it. I'm planning a Highway 50 trip across Nevada myself in the near future 😺

I did the exact same California-Nevada-California-Nevada thing like in the first part of this video, a few months ago when I had a job in Cedarville. I didn't go into Nevada at all, cause I was still technically on-the-clock, but someday I'd like to go all the way to Black Rock City and Gerlach on this road. I really want to explore this whole part of the state more, I even have it all planned out already.

You were probably working in Cedarville shortly after I visited. I remember the coffee shop at the main corner where I stopped after filming this video. And funny that you did the same "California-Nevada-California-Nevada" thing 😸. I've been to Gerlach and Black Rock city from the Reno side - it would have been fun to press on down 8A and the other roads to get there from the north, but both time constraints and questions about how my little Prius would do on some those roads prevented it.

😹 yes the pavement does stop quite abruptly at the border. It started to get bumpier where I ended the video.
