I would add an additional step. If you change a slot for a vehicle (meaning renaming) you may have to go into the vehicles.meta file and change the handling line of that vehicle. This is needed because certain types may start to flip over when cornering at a high speed. Tahoe's, Chargers, Expeditions, Explorers etc. are higher center of gravity vehicles and are notorious for this issue when they used in a different slot. I like to do a "proving grounds" test of any new vehicle I install by going up to Sandy air field and doing a slalom (high speed left and right turns) to verify if they flip over or not. It isn't required, but I know from experience how frustrating it is to corner and then end up on the roof because the handling line is off. Two extra pro tips, vehicles.meta is where you can change LODs so your drivers don't appear to be floating (basically this is loading distance). Second this file is where you can fix the blacked out lightbars and windows. This happens from time to time when adding cars. diffuse.Tint= is what you'd modify to fix that issue (it does NOT change the texture ytd for the car just the transparency of the glass). Hey CJ! I think it was you and I talking about you doing a video like this and I really appreciate you making it! If I could request a follow on video.. there are different packs that I like for vehicles.. I live in AZ and like the AZDPS and various AZ agency vehicles, however, many of the available downloads are texture packs or skins and the downloads only contain .png files. Since I'm new to modding, I'm not sure how to install those and definitely don't want to mess anything up and have to completely start from scratch with a clean GTAV copy. I know you're busy making videos but if you get the opportunity to add one like this, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks brother!

Light patterns for the lightbar itself can be changed in the xml file. Just look for or the for each of the WRL, PRI, and SEC. You can only use one or the other. Preset or Forced. Can't use both at the same time. Sadly in the ELS manual they never wrote what numbers give you what patterns. They only did that for ACORONAS. (halogen 1-10, strobe 11-20, and LED 21-30) The other thing that's a drag is you have to restart the game every time you change lighting patterns Preset and Forced to see the results (this is a pain in the butt). You can't reload ELS from the console. I think that's due to when ELS loads with the game (it's before your scripts folder you see in Rage).

Then you should probably do as CJ recommends. Go watch his openiv tutorial that he dropped in this video. He also tells you how to locate those videos. You just have to listen for it.

The only problem with that is that you won’t have a different vehicle packs for FBI and FBI 2 and Sheriff’s. What if you wanted CHP and say Blaine County cars?

Just change the slots (names) and put the others, alternatively if you cannot change it and have no slots to change it you can just delete the FBI files and stuff and put the other cars. MAKE SURE Y9UR ELS FILE NAME IS THE SAME AS YOUR CAR NAME SLOT

Your game was/is crashing because initially, cars aren’t meant for that particular file. So when you switch it up like that, it can very well be possible that you’ve corrupted your files. Which means you’ll have to delete your mods folder and start over. For future reference, I would highly recommend not putting a file where it’s not meant to be in the first place.

So there are black boxes that pop up in the top right corner throughout the video. Those are called video links. Did you happen to see those? I clearly state at the 2:00 min mark of this video that everyone was gonna need those requirements. Which is probably why your lights are not working. If you guys would stop skipping through my videos. Especially when the answer to your question is in the video. If you wanna be a good successful modder, you have to learn to watch these videos from start to finish. I know your anxious about playing the game with new mods, but it’s never gonna happen if you don’t learn to slow down and take your time. Just some food for thought.

Make sure you installed all the requirements that I mentioned in the video. There’s little black boxes that pop up in the right side corner of the screen throughout the video. Take a look at those. If you don’t install all the requirements then it’s not gonna function properly.

Had you not skipped through the part where CJ told you how to get that folder, then you would probably already have it. Its really not that hard to listen to what he says. Time stamp is at 2:15. This is why CJ says not to “skip through” his videos.
