I am reaching out for urgent assistance regarding my Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) application. My son was born in August, and after applying for FMLA, I attempted to secure payment for the weeks I took off. Unfortunately, I have not received any communication from the Employment Development Department (EDD), despite my repeated efforts to follow up. I completed the necessary steps for identity verification but have yet to receive any payments. Is it too late for me to submit a new application, or what steps should I take next? I have been trying to reach EDD, but I have not been able to connect with anyone. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate any guidance you can provide.

My mom is a senior citizen and she's going to have knee surgery. I will be the only one caring for her. Does her knee surgery qualify for me to take FMLA and for how long? It's knee replacement surgery and I will take care of her and take her to physical therapy appointments.

@@David-up2uj yes. Her doctor said that I would qualify as her caretaker under FMLA. The doctor just has to fill out the forms.
